iPod Overkill

Everyone is talking about iPhones and iPods and it’s starting to go on our nerves, isn’t it? I don’t remember such a hype around a technical device since the initial launch of the first iPods. But this time Apple doesn’t quite deserve the buzz. And the biggest iPod enthusiasts actually agree with me on that. Not only are the new members of the iPod family full of flaws, but also patched with so many disadvantages that it’s not even fun anymore. Nevertheless we went to the Gravis Flagship Store, which is the German equivilant to the Apple store, to check out the new music players. More after the jump.

We actually love the Gravis Flagship Store. It’s so big and spacious, all slick and white. Although apparently Apple themself seems to get rid of white more and more. The store is on two levels and they have a new hifi room upstairs where you can test their home entertainment devices and speaker systems.

Well concerning the new iPods, we don’t wanna go too deep. Just check out iLounge.com or iFun.de to read full reviews. We thought the iPod nanos looked pretty cute, the shuffles we don’t really care about, the classic were not really that innovative, the iPhone looked pretty cool and were fun to use (though not yet available, will be in November), and the iPod touch, the most anticipated device, was not yet there. But we heard it’s a crap device due to small storage space, limited features, short battery life and slow synch speed. It’s probably still gonna look cool, but we’ll wait until the device updated enough so it’s actually worth mentioning.
The image above shows my new iPod classic (yeah, I know, first bitching and then buying one after all, but I needed a new one). It’s actually fun using the cover flow, but the general performance is a bit slow.

I love the old ipods much more than the new one. I think apple should do some classic ipods for not so much money.

Alot of bloggers aren’t very happy with this new iPad.There was just too much hype about it and alot blogers got disapointed. You see, I can actually see some of the awesome potential uses of this gizmo. Third-party apps for doing tunes, games, newsprints and magazines and FFS books, tons of neat stuff, but IMHO they just didn’t really sell it properly (aside from the books). It smells kinda not finished
