When Things Cast No Shadows

Hariton Pushwagner, “Vertigo 23″ “Vertigo 23″ by Hariton Pushwagner

The 5th Berlin Biennial promises us 10 exciting days of contemporary art with a lot of “Things That Cast No Shadows”. Starting this Saturday you can see the work of 50 different artist from around the world in numerous exhibitions at the KW, Neue Nationalgalerie, Schinkel Pavillion and Skulpturenpark. In addition to the shows during the day there will also be a night part called “My nights are more beautiful than your days” that will go on until mid June with 63 artists involved in various locations all over the city, for example at the Volksbuehne, Alexa and Arsenal Kino. The last Biennial in 2006 was a great experience and I can only recommend going there. We’ll definately take our tour to check out how they handle this whole “no shadows” theme. Read on for more details.

… wish I had a way to get to Berlin – love pop art and i’m sure this Pushwagner work would be fantastic to see up close … reminds of some other artists like Pietro Psaier or Alan Arcangelo – each kinda different but hitting similar notes, or Brian Forsyth’s tabloid paintings are pretty fun actually
