Dexter

Dexter seems to be the perfectly normal American guy. Pretty girlfriend, cool sister, nice job. But his hobby is everything but conventional. He likes to kill serial killers, no, he NEEDS to kill them. It’s like a dark urge deep inside of him. Yeah, well, apart from that he’s just a nice guy.

You can meet Dexter on Monday at 22:55 when he premieres on RTL2. Read more after the jump.

The show is already running in its third season in the States, and I know RTL2 is not a good indicator for quality TV but I can assure you that this show is worth checking it out. It’s based on the successful book series Darkly Dreaming Dexter by Jeff Lindsay. I especially like the haunting soundtrack of the show composed by Daniel Licht. The trailer and some links to books and soundtrack below.

    After having seen the questionable adds for this show at some bus stops in front of schools (a nice guy with splattered blood in his face and the writing says: Don`t be afraid, he just wants to kill – keine Angst, der will nur töten) i checked out ninjavideos to watch the show. I have to admit, it`s one ofthe best criminal seres i have seen, in one row with Lost, Desperate Housewifes and Dr. House.

    Back to the adds: how can RTL2 bee so unsensisitive and putting these adds in front of schools after the amok shooting in finnland? i wonder if they got a warning from the regulatory authority.

    Ist allgemein schade daß die Serie bei RTL2 gelandet ist. Da paßt sie nicht ins Serienprogramm. Ich glaube wenn eine Werbeplakat im urbanen Raum hängt ist es unvermeidbar das Kinder es sehen. Da finde ich spielt es nicht unbedingt eine goße Rolle wo das Plakat hängt. Daher finde ich ist die Frage eher. Darf solch eine Kampagne überhaupt geschaltet werden.
    Ich selbst bin mir unschlüssig und frage mich ob der menschliche Geist oder auch der Geist eines Kindes wirklich so einfach zu manipulieren sind. Das gewünschte Resultat hat die Werbung allerdings erreicht denn die Zielgruppe schaut es. Sei es bei ninja sei es bei Rtl2.

    Ab 20. Oktober läuft die 2te Staffel auf Premiere Serie oder Premiere 4, wo auch zur Zeit die erste Staffel wiederholt wird – und zu peter: Es ist nicht RTL2, dass Plakate klebt – selten so ‘nen dümmlichen Betroffenheitskommentar gelesen…
    Bleib’ am besten bei deinen Desperate Housewives (…und lern’ Englisch)….hahahaha

    Hi,season 4 has ended strange because Rita is dead and I’m waiting for season 5.I think season 5 will be the best of the seasons.
