.BHC Kollektiv Show & Party

.BHC Kollektiv Show October 2008

On Thursday we went to the opening party of the new .BHC Kollektiv group show at the former Hungarian House at Alexander Platz. We were invited kind of short notice so we did not even know what to expect, but it turned out to be a really cool event. The first floor showcased a big collection of street art photographs. The friend who was with me and who I consider to be an expert on the field said that the selection was actually quite good. Read on to learn about the party and the rest of the exhibition.

The second floor was dominated by three bigger rooms where the party took place. Although we arrived early it was already pretty busy and the audience quite interesting, which is something I really appreciate in art events. Architectually the location was really intriguing. The old Hungarian house preserved itself a lot of charme from the old days with many interior design elements like wooden panels on the walls still intact.

The exhibition was spread over the whole floor in hallways and smaller rooms. It was an intresting mix of installation work, photography, video, performance, sculptures and conceptual artworks. Being not such a big fan of installation art I disliked quite a few pieces, but generally I liked the exhibition and I think it is worth checking out. It will be open until the end of the month.
