When You Are Engulfed In Flames

I just started reading the new David Sedaris When You Are Engulfed In Flames when I heard that he will be in town this Friday for a reading of his new book at Babylon:Mitte. I have always been a fan of his quirky and witty collections of semi-autobiographic short stories and essays such as Naked and Me Talk Pretty One Day. It must have been quite a sight seeing me sitting in the subway or in the waiting room bursting out in laughter completely out of nowhere. So tomorrow night will hopefully be equally funny. Details after the page flip.

so, the reading was actually surprisingly short, but really funny. At the book signing afterwards Sedaris was quite charming but wrote really strange things into my books, like “I’m so glad you can walk” or “I’ve heard such good things about you at Christmas”. Well, I hope he meant that in a funny way and was not totally bored by us cold Germans.
