Do You Read Me?!

The German magazine market is one of the biggest in world. Just take a look at the wide range of girl magazines at a random German news stand. Of course, quantity doesn’t count. Especially the magazines for young women are extremely boring: they are telling the same stories over and over again (“Bad Girl Sex: 75 Tricks For Nights When You Want to Be Just a Little Naughtier” Yeah, right…). Good magazines are rare. Find out where to get them, after the break.

Do You Read Me?!

If you are interested in magazines that distinguish between content and advertising, if you are looking for non-mainstream magazines, you won’t find them at the news stand around the corner. In Berlin, you have to go to the news stands at the major railway stations. You might also find some at specialty book shops like Bücherbogen am Savignyplatz, Pro qm and Walter König. In other words: you have to journey through the whole city in order to get a decent magazine.

Do You Read Me?!

This might change now, as a new magazine shop opened on Auguststraße 28 in Mitte. At do you read me?! you will find a great assortment of contemporary magazines and books. The shop is no news stand – the classic glossies are only available by order. Alongside relevant magazines that you can also get at other places (Du, Zoo Magazine, Monopol), you will also find a wide range of interesting magazines such as Purple Fashion Magazine, WAD, and i-D that are pretty hard to get in Germany.

Do You Read Me?!
