100 Years of Scala Club

100 Jahre Scala Club Berlin

Last night the Scala club celebrated its 100th anniversary with A Guy Called Gerald and Peaches at the decks. Well, not so much the anniversary of the actual club that we’ve grown so fond of over the last 2 years. But that of the building that the Scala club is located in, a former movie theatre built in 1908. The invitation-only party had a strict dresscode. The wild twenties were the theme, so at least I obliged. But the cool kids did not really give a fuck and as the crowds shoved themselves past the doormen he was only mumbling disappointedly: “But you’re not really wearing a costume!” Beside myself only a few others took the dresscode seriously. One of them the friendly lady in pink underwear that gave us a little Burlesque dance/strip show - Josephine Baker style - to electronic music. More photos from last night after the banana skirt.
