Welcome to the Villa

Tilt! Party at Villa Club Berlin

Abandoned by the rest of the iHeartBerlin.de-Team I was out and about all by myself this weekend. Rushing through the cold and slippery streets of Berlin isn’t all that thrilling so I was more than happy about the warm welcome I received at the Villa, one of Berlin’s currently hottest party locations. And the name really is not misleading, because this house is quite amazing. It must have been the mansion of the owner of the old brewery Friedrichshoehe back in the days. High ceilings, archs, prim columns and stucco indecate quite a fancy past. Of course now it’s totally run down, fucked up and plastered with tags and street art. That’s just what Berlin does to it’s buildings. Read on for more impressions and lot’s of photos from the evening.

The house reminded me a lot of the Salon Zur Wilden Renate, only bigger. There is one big dancefloor downstairs and a smaller one upstairs surrounded by more rooms with bars and couches to hang out. Design-wise especially the main hall is interesting with the socket wallpaper, a naked barbie poster and the big staircase.

Take note that Villa is not a public club, but a registered society (Verein). So you will have to become a member to get in, which is not at all complicated and handled at the door. It helps to know what party you are going to, btw.

All in all this was a really great night out and I will definately be back, especially considering that this place is only a Kurzstrecke away. I say: I heart Villa!

On Sunday I also dropped by the .HBC for the Sunday Seance hosted by Macaroni Club. In an almost private atmosphere a very charming audience was dancing on the tables to what can only be described as happy music. Cake and coffee were just the right complements for my taste. Cosy!
