The Soup Kitchen for Hipsters

The Appartement at Prenzlauer Allee is a hidden bar and art space that offers, just like places like the Weinerei, a serving of free food in several courses. It’s located in an old industrial building and therefore has the fucked-up charm of abandonment so typical for Berlin. A young creative crowd comes together here every Tuesday and enjoys the free meal either on a long neatly set table or in a small cosy lounge.
As we were standing in line for our food last week and the guests were squeezings themselves past us with their plates I internally started laughing as this somehow reminded me of a soup kitchen for hipsters. Details and more impressions after the jump.

hey -apparently it’s private, you must be invited as there is a guestlist? more facts on this, please, as the thing looks really interesting!

oh, hm. last week we were there and we walked just through. Maybe it was too full today so they couldn’t let everyone in? don’t know. they don’t really have a website where you can check their program. But I’ll keep you updated via Twitter if I hear anything.
