Shades re-loaded

11null Shades

Shopping for sunglasses gives me a headache. First of all, find a pair out of hundreds that look okay in my face (yes, I have one of those faces that doesn’t go well with hats and shades). Of course the ones that look best are the most expensive ones. As a consequence I will hardly ever wear them because I’m a) afraid to break them and b) afraid to loose them.

My amazement was big when I was introduced to the shades of Berlin-based label 11null. A thin layer of dark foil, rolled up in a little film can, that seemlessly wraps around your face. The design is quite simple, the look is classical, the protection is superb and the price is low. How much more do you need?

Win 2 of these clever shades and find out more about them after the jump.

The shape is classical and works both for boys and girls. As simple as the concept and design of these shades is, as effective is their functionality: The material comes from a medical background so it protects you better than any other pair of sun glasses. The fit is surprisingly good and even if you shake your head they won’t come off. What I like about it is the minimal contact to the skin, so you won’t get these nasty dents on the sides of your nose.

We have 2 of those shades for your wearing pleasure. To win them, please leave a comment below with a valid eMail address. While you are at it, please tell us what kind of sunglasses you are wearing these days. You have time until Sunday afternoon, then we will randomly pick the 2 winners. Good luck!!

For those who can’t wait you can buy them for 30 EUR in their online shop.

I too have this fear within me of breaking my sunglasses.. I stands from when my favorite pair of plastic sun glasses broke in half:(

Cool shades – I am currently using a pair of HAN glasses (http://www.hyrcollective.com/daily-blog/2008/10/han-glasses/) the top pair of sun glasses.

  21. K Says:

Ooh, I want some of those!
Last year I wore a pair I bought on the street, but were the first sunglasses I actually thought looked good on me…until I stepped on them and they broke in half. Now I’m wearing my boyfriends gold 80s sunglasses.

  22. Mulu Says:

must have. How cool are they.

  23. Ed Dunkle Says:

I just got back from Berlin. You don’t really need sunglasses there, except as a fashion accessory.

Which, of course, means you must have sunglasses. Silly me.

  24. Yamoto Says:

These are the coolest sunglasses i have seen in ages! Thanks a lot for the tip!

Also, I love their “Future is Bright” theme. I checked the http://www.11null.com website but can’t find a distributor in Japan so I could try then on ;( Do you guys think i can just order the shades and risk that they might not fit my Japanese face…?

  25. Lea Says:

  26. lasern. Says:

selfmade thick perspex sunglasses in grey. heavy and they hurt after a while…

  27. hearandshout Says:

knockoff wayfarers und eine h&m brille, nichts besonderes.
ich bin auch der typ dem kopfbedeckungen und brillen nicht besonders stehen.

  28. devid Says:

  29. Lars Says:

  30. Freddy Says:

I’m wearing Diesel shades, but they are already a bit messed up. So something new would be dope!

  33. Claudio cr Says:

    @Yamamoto
Well the glasses are better I think for smaller faces that for bigger ones. I think that they are a really cool and I would definetly wear them in Japan.
Here in Berlin they are a little bit to space invader for my taste.

  34. Yamamoto Says:

    @cr
Thanks for reply! Just ordered the shades as there is free worldwide shipping anyways and the YEN is very strong these days. Yeah! All the best to old skool Wayfarer-Style Berlin and do not forget that the FUTURE IS BRIGHT (NOT THE PAST)!

(…that line never get old ;)

  35. Claudio cr Says:

Great! Feel free to write us how happy or unhappy you are with the shades! Just curious to hear opinions from the beloved japan!

So here is my feedback for the 11null shades: AWESOME!!!!!!!!! I wanted to order 2 but you can only order 1 or 3. So i ordered 3 which was my biggest luck!! People were so crazy for these sunglasses that i could sell the other 2 for almost 5 times the original price, yeah!!!!!

You guys really have a nice blog. Keeping myself updated on news stuff from Berlin finally pays off ;)
