It’s all about variety, baby!

Cocktail D'Amoure Graphic

This weekend’s party guide is all about variety, my dearest party people. Because apart from the biggest techno mini-festival Twisted Elements (which we are raffeling off tickets in our iHeartBerlin.de Facebook Group btw.) this weekend we also have a knitting workshop, a burlesque drawing course, a crazy cake baking contest, a scary movie session, a bizzare metal fetish wear performance and the one or other cool party in the offering. Hop after the jump to make your weekend as colorful as possible…

Thursday

Let’s begin with the craziness at Lucas Carrieri Gallery at Torstr. 96 where the first anniversary party of Bordel Des Arts will take place at 19h. Here you will witness a performance presentation of the work of metal artist Tó Sun as well as an exhibition of tattoo artist No Respects Grafix and music by Kieran.

If you’re up for a little more homy feeling: The .HBC has opened their permanent cafe and bar which is open every day except for Monday at Karl-Liebknecht-Str. 9. They have a special program almost every day and today they’ll have a little party called CA+CA with resident DJs and free entry.

If you’re up for something “hip” Phonique is DJing at Cookies tonight at Friedrichstr./Unter den Linden. I have never been in the new Cookies on a weekday and I hear mixed things about it. Obviously it is not as cool anymore, but who can maintain a reputation for more then a couple of year’s here in Berlin, huh? But I really like Phonique, he was my first DJ Crush and I really enjoy his albums. Actually I haven’t seen him at the decks for a couple of years, oh I fondly look back to my early Berlin years, back in the day when Watergate was still a cool place…

Friday

How about we learn how to knit today? Not cool? But what if we did it in a cool bar? Just for the fun of it! You could knit yourself an accessorie for the parties later on. Check out the StrickenBar at Heroes, Friedelstr. 49 (Neukölln).

Alternatively, you could also get yourself some scares at the Night of the Terrifying Shorts at Kino Babylon at Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz. I’m really curious about the parody of Kubrik’s The Shining! The full program of short films here.

After that you can head over to Lucas Carrieri Gallery again. Faster! Stronger! Brighter! and NEO2 Magazine present the Spanish avant-garde band Fur Voice live as well as photographic and video installations work by Jose Morraja.

But that’s not all of course, for the night we have something BIG for our techno party friends. Twisted Elements is a mini festival taking place at Ritter Butzke in Kreuzberg at Ritterstr.  14 and Suicide Circus in Friedrichshain at Revalerstr. 99 from Friday through Sunday. Headlining acts are: James Ruskin, A Guy Called Gerald LIVE, Deadbeat LIVE, Heiko Laux, Redshape and many more. You can win 2×2 tickets in our facebook group.

Saturday

On Saturday is the time for you to get creative: In the early afternoon at 14:30h you can join the latest Dr. Sketchy Anti-Art School for their 6th live drawing event. There will be naked burlesque dancers and all that jazz at White Trash Fast Food at Schönhauser Allee 6-7. Only 10 EURs entrance fee.

If you are less the Dita Von Teese Type, and more the Cynthia Barcomi type you might prefer the crazy Psychedelic Cake Making Competition at WOAH at Emserstr. 130 from 15-20h. Here you can go crazy with your food coloring, edible glitter and baking skills. I wonder what they had in their cake to come up with such an idea… I love it!

For the night we have 3 options: For once the second night of the Twisted Elemtents thingy. And secondly the amazing Dirt Crew at the F.U.C. Your Neighborhood party at Villa at Landsberger Allee 54.

If you are gay and would like to watch/touch other gay men you may pretend to go to Ritter Butzke, but then right before the entrance turn right und go into the small cellar club St. Georg at Ritterstr. 26 and enjoy a Cocktail d’Amore. Though I must warn you, there is a chance you will find GHB, bear-hair or cum in your cocktail…

Sunday

Again: Twisted Elements. If not: Magda and Cassy will DJ at Panorama Bar from 16h onwords. If those two power ladies are not a reason to go, what else is?
