The Lovely Week

We Have Band

What a lovely way to start the week with the day of love: Valentine’s Day and a very special party for that occasion. Of course the city is being dominated with all the events of Berlinale. But honestly, I couldn’t be arsed going any deeper into this. Just like Fashion Week it is just too much and for some reason I prefer to let this mega event pass me by. For all the other sweet little events look after the jump!

Monday

It’s Valentine’s day and that is for sure the best occasion for a love affair of a special kind: Cinéma and iHeartBerlin are getting together to rock the HBC Kino tonight with fun pop, rnb and hip hop music. Come around, there will be lovely surprises for you…

The exhibition is open until Saturday from 14-19h with a special film screening on Friday at 20h, an audiovisual performance on Saturday at 20h followed by the closing party at midnight. Infos here.

Wednesday

Fans of impressive architecture should definately have a look into the new book CCCP – Cosmic Communist Constructions Photographed released by Taschen. I have seen some of the most amazing and unusual buildings in there that I had no idea even existed. On Wednesday there will be a book signing at the Taschen Store at Friedrichstr. 180-184 with the photographer and author of the book Frédéric Chaubin who is also the editor if chief of French lifestyle magazine Citizen K. From 18-20h.

Thursday

This Thursday is the kick-off of the Jägermeister Wirtshaus Tour with a concert of We Have Band and Yuksek at the Jägerklause at Grünberger Str. 1 in Friedrichshain. Coincedently this old pub is right around the corner from my first appartment here in Berlin that I moved into 10 years ago. I always wondered if there is ever anything going on in there. Now there definately is and it’s kind of intriguing to have a party in an unusual place like that. You can still win tickets for the party until Tuesday over here and on Facebook.

Friday

The Backyard, home to the Last Days and Fickfreunde parties, is hosting a new night called Art Dinner & Dance, this time with an exhibition by young artist Stefan Meyer-Götz. The opening reception starting at 21h is also a dinner (with delicious Thai food) and will lead over into an after party with music by Alisa, Nora (Enklave) and Suz. Reservations for the dinner can be made by eMailing to backyard36@web.de, walk ins for the dinner are also welcome. Join the Facebook event here.
