The five finalists of the next Designer for Tomorrow Award, one of our favourite fashion competitions, were recently anounced at a press conference at the Soho House. To strengthen the international character of the competition Peek & Cloppenburg invited star designer Marc Jacobs to be a jury member. For me the skirt-wearing designer rather stands for tasteless naked self-glorification than for avant-garde fashion. But the young designers we spoke to were more than excited that Marc Jacobs had selected their collections. An interview we did with one of the designers you’ll find shortly on the DfT Blog. Having already seen a preview of the collections I am really looking forward to the show in July where the next German Designer for Tomorrow will be chosen.
