NYE DJ Sets Flyer

Oh my, how many times did you get asked what you are doing for New Year’s Eve these past days? So many parties, so many choices, but you don’t know what to do? Then we have a little surprise for you: We are inviting you to our iHeartBerlin New Year’s Eve House Party! Yes, all of you. And where does the party take place? At YOUR house, silly! Our DJs made some exclusive mixes and mixtapes for your NYE house or warm-up party. We have something for everyone: party pop, indie rock, techno, electro, wave and old time classics. And to bring all of our iHeartBerlin readers into your house, we made the biggest iHeartBerlin party photo slideshow from our favorite parties of the past years. Best Electronic Music of 2011

In 2011, the number of techno record releases has increased significantly. Due to software such as Ableton it has become a Kindergarten game to produce electronic music. Nowadays everybody who can push a software button calls himself a producer.

However, quantity is not quality. Most of the electronic music that was produced in 2011 will be forgotten in 2012. Nevertheless, there were also a significant number of tracks this year that I will always remember. Have a look after the jump to see my very personal selection of the five best electronic tracks in 2011.

Short Sunday: Christmas Shorts

It’s Christmas Sunday and I guess the majority of us is stuck somewhere far away from Berlin with their family, possibly bored out of their minds and rolling from one big meal to the other and having to go through various horrible TV programs and annoying relatives. If that is the case for you, we have a little distraction for you: a selection of very diverse short films from all over the world about Christmas. Enjoy, after the jump.

No Half Measures

photo: Mount Mitte

Parties, concerts, art and fun in Berlin – you could say that this is a bit of our specialty here. Together with Relentless Energy Drink we were wondering, what you can actually do here in Berlin if you want to go on full throttle and make no half measures. We’re not looking for the usual coolness and understatement, but for a real thrill, racing heartbeat and adrenalin rush. I don’t think that funny GIFs, cupcakes and the Blitz party will do this time… But don’t worry, we wouldn’t be iHeartBerlin if we didn’t have an answer to this question, too. Our suggestions for some suspenseful entertainment after the jump.

Christmas Party Guide

Double puke, it’s there now: Christmas. And only a single day off. As usual your family will drive you crazy, mum’s favourite son will get better presents than you and the poor duck you have been eating will end up in the toilet after dinner; we don’t want to become fat, don’t we. The only way to survive all this is booze and party. A few parties for the few lost souls and homecoming Berliners will follow after the jump:

New Goldfrapp Song: Yellow Halo

Even though their last album Head First was not really my cup of tea, Goldfrapp still remains one of my all-time favorite bands with amazing songs such as Utopia, Strict Machine, Oh La La and A&E. In the beginning of Febuary 2012 they will release their first Best Of album summing up all their singles plus two brand new songs. One of them has been released a few days ago: the charming and dreamy Yellow Halo, with a video that was shot with an iPhone by director Lisa Gunning who also happens to be Alison Goldfrapp’s girlfriend. Have a look at it after the jump.
