Since last Saturday I am totally hooked on Karaoke. Matthias Lilienthal, artistic director of the HAU theater celebrated his goodbye party with sexy rockstar grandma Peaches. She didn’t just perfome some great songs herself but also hosted an amazing karaoke night. The whole audience sang and danced and somewhere between Total Eclipse of the Heart, Rolling in the Deep, 99 Luftballons and I will Survive I got quite emotional. Not so sure if it was because of the 16 year old Turkish girl wearing a head rag performing Adele’s no. 1 hit like a champ or because of the collective experience of 800 people singing (or let’s say screaming) all together I will Survive.
