Berlin Goods: Jewellery by WOMAN.MADE

Extraordinary jewellery always has a special place in my heart, not only because of my own ventures into jewellery design, but also because I have a great admiration for beautiful products that go beyond the normal aesthetic of their own genre. In the case of the new jewellery collection by Berlin-based label WOMAN.MADE it is exactly that what attracts me. Instead of thin gold chains designer Stephanie Johne uses a thick white rope as a necklace complemented by pendants of short pieces of copper pipes covered in white leather. The combinations of these unusual materials is truely beautiful and very unique. Elegant, minimalistic, but still very bold. And with the size they make excellent statement pieces. As her inspiration for this collection and her label name she mentions Jean-Michel Basquiat, the enfant terrible of the New York art scene of the 80s who she wrote her art history thesis about.

If you like Stephie’s jewellery as much as we do, you should check out her current offer of one of her amazing necklaces on Newniq right here that is still available for another 6 days. See the rest of the collection after the jump.
