Awesome Interior Design Shops in Berlin

In Berlin we are lucky to have amazing shops dedicated to interior design and home accessories that we feel quite excited about. For the longest time the problem with interior design was that you had to choose between that big Swedish chain, vintage or super expensive designer products. Gladly this has changed and you have more options now of cutting-edge contemporary design that is actually affordable and still unique. Enjoy our selection after the jump.

Hallesches Haus

The Hallesches Haus at Tempelhofer Ufer is located in the former post office at Hallesches Tor that was previously used by the now closed HRST KRZBRG club. They completely remodeled the entire place and now the dark tiled club is a bright big space that combines a beautiful interior design boutique with selected local and international designers in all price categories with a airy cafe and cantina that serves coffee, breakfast, lunch and snacks. The selection of products is really amazing, you will find industrial and vintage style items that range from kitchen wear, gardening tools, books and posters, lamps, furniture, gift items and decorative objects. What I love that you will find iconic products such as Edison light bulbs with industrial lamp shapes and the cups of Toiletpaper Magazine, alongside the smart bowls and frames of Fundamental Berlin. The selection is so original and beautiful that you will have a hard time leaving empty-handed.

District Six

The lovely design store District Six started a few years ago as an online shop but transformed to a brick and mortar store in the Spring. They have a focus on design from South Africa so you can expect vibrant colors and bold patterns. Apart from their interior design products they also have bags, jewelry, art and stationary items. Embedded into the lovely Graefekiez they also benefit from a nice neighborhood right in the heart of Kreuzkölln.

Schee

Schee is another one that started as an online shop. Their main business are fine art and silk screen prints of artists, graphic designers and illustrators. After only a short while they already opened their first shop in Cologne and this year added a second one in Berlin-Mitte. Of course in a shop you cannot only sell prints so they also added a bunch of wonderful ceramic and interior products that perfectly complement their walls covered in art prints.

Amodo

This little gem of a store opened earlier this summer in Mitte and brings a whole array of gorgeous little objects to our city all the way from Italy, Prague, Ljubljana, Porto, well, and also from here. You’ll find many mostly small objects for use or for decoration that make perfect little gifts – things like ceramics, books, prints, candles, soap, toys, plants, and much more. The store owner recently also had their first very famous guest, non other than artist legend Ai Weiwei.

Vitra

After they opened their collaborative store with artek at Bikini Berlin back in April 2014 this year another shop followed that focusses on their entire product catalog including their new small accessories and stationary. The new Vitra store is a shop-in-shop on the 4th floor of the KaDeWe, the big department store at Wittenberg Platz (also worth a visit for itself). The Swiss interior design label produces some of the most iconic design products such as the classic Plastic Chair of Charles and Ray Eames from the 1950s or the Wiggle Side Chair from Frank Gehry.
