For those who don’t have a way out of the city due to work, Berlin’s parks offer the perfect little escape on a daily basis: it’s the place we can cool off, forget about the city’s busyness and let nature have us as its kids again. And when these parks have a lake we can take a boat ride in, all the better! One of our options is right in the center of Berlin, with Tiergarten offering boat rides in Cafe am Neuen See! A cute little lake you can paddle your way around, wave hello to your co-paddlers, and lose yourself in the serenity of the scenery.

What I like most when I go to a restaurant is to find someone truly passionate about what he does: a pastry chef meticulously preparing his macarons and giving them a perfectly smooth shape, a wine shop owner talking about wines as if he were talking about his lovers or a chef telling you how he chose his potatoes for cooking French fries that are crispy outside and just a little soft inside. Benedict Berlin – A Breakfast Paradise

The idea of a place that offers breakfast around the clock already sounds pretty amazing considering I love breakfast and I tend to start the day quite late. But combine this with an unbelievable diverse and extensive selection of breakfast dishes that are typical in different countries, this makes it pretty much a paradise to me.

Benedict Berlin offers exactly that and has pretty much hit a nerve not only with me, but with a lot of people in Berlin. Only a few months old the place is already super popular and that even despite its unusual location in Wilmersdorf. But the commute to this place is absolutely worth it, because nowhere else will you get a variety and especially with such good quality here in Berlin.

The concept hails all the way from Israel where it is already a huge success with several stores. Benedict Berlin is their first branch in a different country and, oh my, are we lucky that they try different waters first here with us. Well, I guess the reputation of the Berliners to be crazy for new things reaches quite far.

In anticipation for her next big show that will happen in the coming week at the impressive Volksbühne theater we met with Esther to speak with her about her favorite places in Berlin. A Sweet Tooth Guide to Berlin

I’ve always had a sweet tooth. Ever since I was a little kid hanging in my parents’ grocery shop, I’d covertly fill up my pockets with candy. Not much changed. I mean, luckily I started financing the addiction on my own and the only thing I may occasionally steal is the show, but, despite strong human competition, my love affair with confectionery is still at the top of my most toxic relationships list. Basically, when I first saw the phrase “death by chocolate”, I felt like that’s what my gravestone is going to read. If you’re like me, or want to really impress a boy or girl with a tendency for sweet self-indulgence (there are many of us around here!), take them to one of those places:
