I kept hearing so much about Dudu lately I just had to check it out! The new Asian Fusion restaurant is located at Torstr. near Rosenthaler Platz. People are so crazy about it that reservations are neccessary most of the time. I tried the beef dish Kuh Auf der Weide which was really awesome and I like the rice that has a hint of coconut. Details and more photos after the jump.

Last Saturday Berlin has increased about 20% in terms of coolness with the opening of the new Pastpresent store at Köpenickerstr. 96. The beautiful black store features mainly the menswear labels Livio and 24/7 Suits, but also has a few other accessorie labels like Moga E Mago that premiered on the Designer Scouts runway only 2 months ago.
We were especially thrilled by the extensive selection of hats. I actually found so many nice pieces that it really hurt that I had already spent all my money in London… After the jump you’ll find impressions from the opening and the details.

My Name Is Claude
Not only expats know and like the Exberliner magazine, that feeds you with information around Berlin-and no German knowledge is required. Basically like us, but of course, we are more wicked. Since a while the Exberliner mag has a music night called Wednesdays at Kaffe Burger and by introducing you this weird institution of Berlin nightlife, that hosts a promising music night this week, I indeed kill two birds with one stone. I love a pop, and even better: a pop-up shop. The online vintage boutique Das Neue Schwarz is just doing that these days at Mulackstrasse in Mitte. How practical that you can now get your fingers on their selected fine designer vintage goods before you buy them. They do not only carry formerly unaffordable pieces by Helmut Lang, YSL, MMM, Prada Escada and Balenciaga, but also clothes by avant-garde heroes like Bernhard Willhelm, C.Neeon and Ann Demeulemeester. Nice. Details after the jump.

My absolute favorite ice cream flavor is yogurt. Obviously, a store that only sells only frozen yogurt is totally heaven for me. I have been hearing and reading about frozen yogurt places popping up all over town a lot lately, for instance over at travelettes and sugarhigh. But I do remember that already last year a shop opened up at Invalidenstrasse in Mitte. So I took the afternoon off to find it and give it a try.
Yoli Frozen Yogurt is for starters the first Authentic Nonfat Frozen Yogurt Store in Germany. Hurray! And I can assure you, it is absolutely delicious. The many toppings and sauces are countless but the staff will help you find the smartest and tastiest combination. I had brownie sauce and raspberries and my buddy had physalis (no, not the STD – the FRUIT!) and dulce de leche (that’s South American caramalized milk cream). They also have smoothies and parfait which are yet to be tested by me. More photos and details after the jump.

Tomorrow night there is going to be a very special installation by Russian artist Alexei Kostroma opening at Wilde Gallery that we would like to recommend. The artist has lived through quite a wild history lately. About a year ago he was shot by his jealous wife in the head and in his right hand. He miraculously survived and his hand recovered. His installation Feathered Chaos is a celebration of the events in life, both good and bad, that are beyond our control, a poignant reminder that in order to overcome life’s unpredictable and seemingly insurmountable hardships, all we need to do is lighten up. Jump after the jump for infos now and into the feathers tomorrow. As Russian tradition requires there will be a lot of Wodka…

Yesterday in Mitte summer hangout Weinbergspark the odd Nola cafe visitor, drug dealer and sun lover became witness of strange occurences taking place in the empty children’s swimming pool in the middle of the park. People wearing masks in horribly coloured clothing had a little party with techno music in the bright light of this sunny day. Read and see more after the jump: Read on – Weiterlesen »

The Transit at Ostkreuz has been my favorite restaurant in quite some time. It is not only really nicely decorated with all those colorful birdcages hanging from the ceiling (don’t worry, they don’t have roasted canaries on the menu), it also has the most delicious Thai dishes that you can get in Friedrichshain. And what is special about it: They serve all their tasty little dishes in small portions for 3 EUR each. This way you can stack your table full of things and everyone can get a taste of everything. A bit like tapas, only better tasting. Oh and the coco panna cotta with mango sauce is a MUST HAVE. Now that I think of it, I feel like having it today… But as I don’t live in Friedrichshain anymore I would probably head to the second Transit at Rosenthaler Platz. More photos and details after the jump.
