The attraction to small but funny design objects seems to be in the family, as my mother posseses kind of everything from Alessi’s kitchen stuff. These little plant-mosters caught my eyes at a fashion store in mitte called Storia. But you can buy them also online directly from the designer Matteo Cibic. What’s intruiging about the Domsais is the humanization of plants through design. I am always into it when a design aesthetic not only manages to be funny but also creates something that is somehow alive and let’s me think about the frontier of our own existence. Are we ourselfe having a glassbubble to protect us from the reality? Some of these days it definetly feels like it. A special edition of the Domsais in gold after the jump. Read on - Weiterlesen »

It’s Sunday late afternoon and some of you probably just came home from browsing though the fleamarkets at Mauerpark, Arkonaplatz and Boxi looking for vintage treasures. Maybe you even went to come cool second handshops this weekend too. But you didn’t find anything? And don’t want to wait until next weekend? Well, that’s where the brand new online vintage shop Jay Loves comes in. A group of girls from Berlin has piled up all their vintage clothing, accessories and decorative items and made an online shop to save themselves the time and effort of selling it all on a fleamarket. Quite clever. They even take on your stuff on comission. Check out their goods on JayLoves.

During the summer Amüsemong is located in the circus of that quite famous bar at the Spree (the one that is about to celebrate its closing for the fourth time). Amüsemong is proud to offer you tonight an acrobatic stage show, performance artists and singers, basically like in a real circus. More after the tag:

Sorry party friends, from now on you will have to travel a little to get to a party! Zehlendorf turned out to be the new place for electronic parties. Yes, Zehlendorf is the district at the end of the S-Bahn linie number whatever and it is famous for expensive houses and fancy rich boys and girls wearing stupid clothes giving them the look of a privileged child, which they are, indeed. Since quite some time strange things happen on the weekends, the “crowd” of Zehlendorf meets for electronic parties that they call “rave” and people get drunk and they actually dance. They now even plan to have their own club in Zehlendorf! Why I mention this here? Well, teens under 18 are allowed to get in there, only from 24.00 they need to be guarded by an adult. This seems very social, get those kids from the streets before they become criminals and practise drug abuse! Especially the kids in Zehlendorf seem to be in danger, all that parental pressure to bring home good grades and to become a lawyer or doctor or worse..Parties after the jump:

You are all complaining about the weather? I know it’s dreadful! But what can we do? Well, there is a nice and really pleasant way to carry a piece of sun with you everyday. Without wanting to sound spiritual or juju, I found a little time of peace in Yoga. And since I am practicing Sun Yoga which is a special Yoga in a heated room I also have great health benefits. The first few times I went I always thought I am going to die before the lesson is over but afterwards you feel like you arrived in heaven. Even in dark times it gave me a smile and a little heat inside to bring out in the cold. For everybody who thinks I am exaggerating I recommend to try out their Starter Special. More infos on their website.

While Jens wishes to be in San Fransisco, Julia is exploring the communism in Cuba and Diwa is trying to become the smallest world leader in Kuala Lumpur, Frank, Suz and I are stuck in the snow. And as a matter of fact I am not sad about it at all. Certainly I prefer holydays in my Sardinian summer house rather then travelling through Alaska, but if I think of all the nice snow related adventures I had in the last couple of days I am quiet happy about the snowbound Berlin. For those who loves the quietness of the snow like I do, there is a little computer program after the jump, which gives you a moment of peace in your daily work.

After the jump Lady Gaga sings a charming little Christmas Carol especially for you…

I don’t know. This year I don’t feel like Christmas at all. I wish I could just skip it and go straight to NYE. But obviously I can’t avoid the family responsibilities and have to go home to spend the holiday with my folks. But that won’t keep me from already making plans for AFTER Christmas to sooth me over the fest of boredom until I’m back in Berlin. Find out what I’ll be doing and what I recommend you should do as well after the jump.

Yesterday, like most other Saturdays and Sundays, I spent most of the day in bed sleeping out last night’s party. By the time I left the house it was already dark and raining. And while I was rushing through the cold, wet and dirty city I just hated it for being in the completely wrong climate zone.
So I wondered what could I do to get out of this uncomfortable mess that is the winter in Berlin. The answer came in the form of a cheerfully formulated eMail by Bacardi: A trip through the Caribbean. On a yacht. For one week. With 9 of your friends. How fucking amazing would that be, huh? Of course you can’t just sign up for it. You have to win a creative challange called Bacardi Ten4 where you have to submit some short films that you upload to YouTube. Learn more about it after the jump.
