Amüsemong in Neukölln

During the summer Amüsemong is located in the circus of that quite famous  bar at the Spree (the one that is about to celebrate its closing for the fourth time). Amüsemong is proud to offer you tonight an acrobatic stage show, performance artists and singers, basically like in a real circus. More after the tag:

Berlin’s new party district!

bodibill

Bodibill

Sorry party friends, from now on you will have to travel a little to get to a party! Zehlendorf turned out to be the new place for electronic parties. Yes,  Zehlendorf is the district at the end of the S-Bahn linie number whatever and it is famous for expensive houses and fancy rich boys and girls wearing stupid clothes giving them the look of a privileged child, which they are, indeed. Since quite some time strange things happen on the weekends, the “crowd” of Zehlendorf meets for electronic parties that they call “rave” and people get drunk and they actually dance. They now even plan to have their own club in Zehlendorf! Why I mention this here? Well, teens under 18 are allowed to get in there, only from 24.00 they need to be guarded by an adult. This seems very social, get those kids from the streets before they become criminals and practise drug abuse! Especially the kids in Zehlendorf seem to be in danger, all that parental pressure to bring home good grades and to become a lawyer or doctor or worse..Parties after the jump:

Fist for all the Brave

photo by Okinawa Soba at Flickr

After the success of Fuel for Live the new fragrance by Renzo Rosso seems to embrace the following motto: Fist for fun! Not only is the bottle of For the Brave modeled after Renzo Rosso’s fist, it also has the scent of leather as its strongest ingredient. I think this is pretty hilarious. The flacon, the name, the scent just everything looks like a joke to me. Some creative director at Diesel seems to spend a lot of time in the darkrooms of Berghain - or is it just my imagination? The ad campaign and a picture of the curious bottle after the jump. Our friends from Style Mag had an interesting little conversation with Renzo that you should not miss.

Cups from the Undergrowth

Undergrowth Design

If I would be an object in my next life, I would love to be born as a delicate cup made by Undergrowth Design. I was filled with pure delight when I stumbled across Tina Tsang’s website, where you can find an exquisite choice of dinnerware, accessories and underwear. The website alone is eye candy, even if you don’t decide to order (which you should do, especially if you life outside the UK - the pound is weak right now!). The Blaue Blume tea set has the texture of old-fashioned lace, it reminds me of glamorous tea times I am spending with Dita van Teese - in my daydreams. And look at the brand-new salt and pepper shaker (after the jump, along with more pictures). How quirky, how unique and beautiful! In that undergrowth, you will find many nice things long before Easter.

Win a Jawbone Designer Headset

Jawbone headset

What is that you’re having on your face, Joseph? Some jewish Klimbim? Well, no, it’s a fancy designer headset from Jawbone, silly. But for why do you wear a designer headset in these olden days? Well, seems they were quite modern back in the day with all these patchwork families n’shit. And also you needed both hands to rock the cradle of that sweet little bastard child while on the phone with your on-and-off girlfriend Maria (who you can see after the jump with a girly edition of said headset) and still wanting to look all freshly permed and shiny. It was all very clever.

We have one of those headsets for your consuming pleasure, find out how to win it after the jump. Blasphemy, anyone? No?

UPDATE: The competition has ended and we will inform the winner shortly. Thanks a lot for all your creative submissions!

We Heart Hate

Hate Magazine #3

It doesn’t come as much of a surprise that I like the Hate Magazine. It’s a very nice piece of intellectual bitching - which is just my cup of tea. They like to make an extreme cross-cultural enemy list which even for me is sometimes a little hard to handle. I mean, bitching about Nazis, Berlin Prenzlauerberg families, catholics and all hipsters in general (just to mention some of the topics) in one magazine could be sometimes too much. But if you don’t mind this wide range of exposed hate you should definitely check it out. And the best thing comes in the end: Hate Magazine is for free. The full magazine in digital form and a list of places where you can get the printed version after the jump.

Speaking about ugliness…

Sonim XP3 Enduro

To be honest, I’m not really passionate about technical devices (though I wouldn’t say no to an iPhone or to something from Bang and Olufsen). Just like my iPod Touch that I got for Christmas I woudn’t dare to take any of these fancy gadgets outside of the house. I’d be frightened of the idea of accidentally letting it slip into a public toilet, watching it take a shower of red wine, or dropping it down the staircase. All these fears would just resolve if I’d forget about design issues and buy the Sonim XP3 Enduro. This new mobile phone is all about one promise: eternal live. Not for yourself, but for the phone. Our friends from Stylemag took the miracle phone to the test. After throwing it under a truck, freezing it in a puddle and drowning it in the Spree it still worked perfectly fine. And it seems they had a lot of fun with it.

The Real Homer Simpson

The real Homer Simpson by Pixeloo

I’m not really a Simpsons fan, but this illustration by Pixeloo is absolutely amazing, don’t you think? I thought this to be a nice distraction from all the Fashion Week coverage. Just to keep my not-so-into-fashion readers busy. Find Super Mario after the jump.
