Lusting for Curiosity? – Friedrichslust

There are probably many vintage hunters and antique specialists among our readers who are able to hunt down the best bargains and the most special objects in any normal fleamarket. But some of you are perhaps also fed up from all the fleamarket culture and want to go to some special shop for once in a while. To get a real interior inspiration I think Friedrichslust can give you as much pleasure as the Wunderkammer in Kreuzberg can. The little shop hidden in a backyard near White Trash has so many special items and furniture that you might not be able to shop anything in the end. Because you just don’t want to take anything away from this magical shop. The cherry on top of it are the sculptures of pan called forest gods. They seem like mystical guards of this wonderful place. Do you know any other cool and mystical interior shops in Berlin? Tell us in the comments! Enjoy more pictures , the address and the opening times after the jump.

A Chamber of Wonders

photos: Jens Wernscheid

“Wunderkammer” (chamber of wonders) is the name of a new shop in Kreuzberg, and this name could not have been chosen more adequately. As soon as you enter it, you somehow enter another world: a world that is full of magic and wonder. Find out more about this treasure chest after the jump.

Oukan 71 Grand Opening

Oukan 71 Grand Opening

Oukan 71 is a brand new avant-garde fashion store, asian tea bar and restaurant at Kronenstraße near Stadtmitte. Last Thursday the boutique celebrated its grand opening presenting their selection of designers, teas and food. I was quite impressed really. The store is very elegant and modern and the choice of labels quite intriguing. Except for Ayzit Bostan, Antonia Goy and Vitor I hadn’t heard about any of them. Many of them are smaller Scandinavian brands, but they all have a Japanese inspired twist. Such as the Kimono-style wind and water proof coats by Norwegian Rain, or the Origami details on the clothes of the Munich-based label Fusionem.

I think it’s quite a daring concept to sell such avant-garde designs of young labels here in Berlin. I’m glad that someone’s finally going through with it and can’t wait to see what other collections will be added to the store in the future. Some impressions of the opening and details of the store after the jump.

Win a bracelet by Sabrina Dehoff

Berlin-based designer Sabrina Dehoff always has the nicest little offsite events during Berlin Fashion Week. I remember quite a few parties and cocktail receptions taking place in showrooms or in front of her shop and it’s a shame we actually never got around reviewing it here properly. But now we have a wonderful occasion to make up for the lack of coverage. We got our hands on one precious Sabrina Dehoff bracelet that we would like to raffle off to you girls. Some impressions of her beautiful flagship store, the bracelet and how you can win it – after the jump.

Sex with holy cows? – Herr von Eden Lookbook 2011

photos: Daniel Josefsohn

Did you know that Ghandi thought that sexual abstinence would preserve India from getting separated in several parts? In fact he even tempted himself by sleeping in the same bed with young female virgins without having sex or even body contact. Not so chaste is the new lookbook from German fashion label Herr von Eden by Daniel Josefsohn. I really like the British Dandy fantasy mixed with Boolywood taken to an absurd extreme point. And if you are not afraid of dicks you should’t miss the little clip that you’ll find after the jump along with all the pictures.

Vintage Fairy Tale

A new little store is opening on Saturday in the Bermuda triangle of Berlin fashion: Gormanstrasse, Münzstrasse and Steinstrasse. But for sure this shop is not there to impress with the newest designer stuff.  XVII – dix-sept is a personal, unconventional fairy tale vintage closet presenting a delicate and constantly changing vintage collection alongside desired beautiful things keeping up the dialogue between style and attitude. Selected treasures from the 60′s to the 90′s with favoured items are presented in one place. More informations and the flyer of this vintage opening after the jump. Read on – Weiterlesen »

You always had naughty fantasies about a certain dress you would like to wear, but you never found it in a store? The do-it-yourself movement has brought up a magic hotspot that can make your dress dreams come true. The Kinkibox situated in Friedrichshain offers you a workspace and sewing machines for your sewing projects. And if you are still in the process of learning you can do it directly in this sweet little sewing cafe. A selection of different sewing courses is offered. Your way to your own Project Runway Experience should bring you to Friedrichshain and if not perhaps you like to get things at the boutique inside. More pictures of the little café shop and the address after the jump.
