Some of you might know the iconic illustrations of Dutch artist and designer Parra from his limited edition shirts and hoodies by Rockwell. This Thursday he will open his first solo show in Berlin at Pool Gallery in Mitte. If you prefer the t-shirts over his paintings you should drop by his pop-up shop at Wood Wood that will be open for the length of the exhibition starting this Saturday. The details after the jump.

On a small side street in Mitte, at the corner of Almstadtstrasse and Schendelgasse, only a two minute walk from the busy main street where shops such as Adidas and Nike are located, you’ll find a nice place where you can have a chat and a coffee. But I don’t want to introduce you to the cafe that is upstairs but to the vintage shop holding lots of treasures that you’ll find if you climb down the spiral stairs.
The Superstore is run by Asta from Reykjavik, David from New York and Yam from Valencia, who met in Berlin and decided to open a shop together. They regularly go around Europe to collect the finest clothes for their shop thus there are interesting and unique pieces to find. Vintage Christian Dior sunglasses for example, a cute dress that every girl just wants to take home or a jacket so sparkling you are gonna be the center of attention. Look at my choice of pieces after the jump.

A few weeks ago I was awaken by a load thump coming from the living room. When I went over I saw in terror that my original signed copy of the Heaven and Hell book by David LaChapelle had fallen off my shelf and broken apart. You heard right, the book is so heavy that it broke apart on its impact. The outer box is totally trashed and the book inside has some dents and bruises now. Did I mention it was a signed copy? I think I did…
Anyways, the Warehouse Sale that will start tomorrow and will go through Saturday here at the newly opened Taschen Store at Friedrichsstrasse gives me hope of at least getting another intact box. After the jump you’ll find the details and a juicy picture of Benedikt Taschen posing with the Big Penis Book at the big opening party a few weeks ago.

I’ve been thinking about having some kind of fan-item for iHeartBerlin for a while now. When we were in London during Fashion Week last February the press badge at the Vauxhall Fashion Scout caught my attention. It was a golden laser-cut acrylic heart the size of a palm. I thought that would make a cool necklace.
I once again stumbled uppon some cool acrylic necklaces when I saw the 5Preview collection. I totally love the black pseudo Chanel logo necklace and I wear it a lot.
So a few weeks back I got an eMail by jewellery designer Suparina who runs a cute small jewellery store in Friedrichshain mainly aimed at a younger audience. And guess what her specialty is: Laser-cut acrylic. I told her about my idea and she was so kind to make this sweet iHeartBerlin.de necklace that you see above. I’ve been wearing it ever since and people keep grabbing it asking if they could have one. So, what do you think? You likey?
After the jump you will see some of Suparina‘s own designs, my favorite being the big pink transformer necklace.

I’m not entirly sure if a wooden notebook case is all that practical, but it sure as hell looks good! This wonderful design object is a product of Berlin-based interior and furniture designer Rainer Spehl who will open his new exhibition tomorrow at the A.D.Deertz shop at Kastanienallee as a part of the DMY Shop Day. Spehl has not only furnished this store but also other Berlin places like the well known boutiques Akif and Konk. You might also have stumbled across his benches and tables down the U-Bahnhof Alexanderplatz. More photos of his work and details about the exhibition after the jump.

Suka-suka is a Malaysian word that means to have fun, to enjoy yourself and to be happy. Or as I like to term it – it’s 1 part fun, 2 parts excitement. And it’s a concept, which we (a dear friend and I) decided to run with and translate into a (not so) little project that opened its doors a few days ago – a pop-up store and showroom in Mitte. Our Sukasuka tale continues after the jump.

Powley
The north kiez of Friedrichshain has a new neighbor of the fashionable kind. It’s a new shop aimed at fans of sneakers and shirts, so I think especially the guys will get happy here. Big sneaker brands like DC, Gola, and Keds go hand in hand with smaller German t-shirt labels such as Powley from Hamburg and Wasted German Youth from Berlin. More photos of the new store Nur Mut and details after the jump.

Mirror, mirror on the wall, who has the best vintage accessories of all? Well, this question can be answered quite easily: Grace! This fabulous golden lady just opened her legs/doors this past Saturday in the heart of Friedrichshain. With diligence, taste and love she serves us her best vintage treasures on a golden plate: Luxurious handbags, glittering necklaces, glamorous sun glasses, marvelous hats, shimmering brouches, beautiful scarves and so much more – most of it rare originals from the 60s, 70s and 80s. If you need a touch of vintage glam in your life, take a look after the jump.

After Scherer Gonzalez it’s time to present you a second Berlin duo emerging from the avantgarde fashion scene. Last week we had the pleasure to meet the charming Julia from the label Julia & Ben while visiting their brand new store in Berlin Mitte. The JB Space can only be described as a treasure chest and we were once again tempted to spend all our money on every single one of their stunning pieces. I had never thought that batik could ever look so amazingly fashion forward. Apart from a great women’s collection we were selfishly most impressed with their view on men’s fashion. To see our attempts to look like models, some looks from their current and upcoming collection, as well as their beautiful flagship store go right after the jump.

Britain has fcuk, America has If you seek Amy and Berlin has Yack Fou. Well, as it’s typical for Berlin, Yack Fou is neither a giant enterprise nor a chart hit pop song, but a really nice independent urban wear label. Mostly I am not so excited about designers who simply print on American Apparel shirts. But in Yack Fou’s case I will make an exception. The little label started a few years ago selling their graphic Tees at the Boxhagener Platz flea market. We followed their development and are now really thrilled about some of their designs. More pictures and a special sales code after the jump.
