
The unevitable finally had been done. Done by the help of a massive police appearance. The house in the Liebigstrasse 14 in Friedrichshain, which has been occupied since 1990 has been evicted. And just another relict of the post wall time had to give way to the economic interests of the house owners – we don’t forget that Friedrichshain has developed being one of the favourite living areas for young well situated New-Berliners. Superfertile

On Friday night I received the following message on my mobile from my flatmate: What is mainstream today? What first sounded like a philosophical question, I later understood was supposed to mean this : In which club can my study-buddies and I go tonight and find a normal mainstream party? I realised that I simply didn’t know. I have no idea under which rock the mainstream hides itself on the weekend. Oh, I certainly know where jackasses go. But I have no idea what the majority of this city would consider a good party. So, you see I have still some homework to do.

Berlin seems like a cul-de-sac for love. Apart from a few happy couples most boys and girls, straight or gay, complain about not having a relationship, about not finding the right man or woman. Impossible in a city like Berlin, with hundreds of nightclubs, bars, cafes and other hang-outs? Clearly not. The hunt for more and for someone better, neverending.
