Albtraum auf der Friedrichstraße
Eigentlich hatte ich nie vor auf diesem Blog Partyfotos zu veröffentlichen. Doch nachdem mein erster Beitrag über die Wild Renate so erfolgreich war, dachte ich mir, sollte ich sowas doch öfter mal machen. Also hab ich hin und wieder meine Digicam abends mitgenommen, ein paar Scheißfotos geknippst und die dann mit Photoshop so heftig nachbearbeitet, bis sie einigermaßen veröffentlichswürdig waren. Seit ich mir Anfang des Jahres eine Spiegelreflex zugelegt habe, ist die Qualität schon ordentlich gestiegen. Besonders seit den letzten 3 Beiträgen hab ich das Gefühl, dass ich echt besser geworden bin. Wow, wer weiß wie geil die Fotos noch werden, wenn ich meine Kamera erstmal über den Automatikmodus hinaus bedienen kann, ha ha!
Kurioserweise werde ich immer noch hin und wieder von Inflight-Magazinen und Zeitungen gefragt, ob sie die Fotos der Wilden Renate verwenden können. Ich sag dazu meistens nein und bitte, sich doch mal auf dem Blog umzusehen, denn es gibt da noch weitaus schöneres Material für solche Zwecke. Zum Beispiel auch nach dem Klick die neuesten Fotos der Nightmare on Friedrichstraße III Party in der Scala vom vergangenem Samstag. Viel Spaß!

The first picture is to me just shocking. There is this incredibly beautiful girl but if you look closer you see like a sad expression in her eyes and her scars. It just speak to me.
I am not sure if I would post a picture like this. Or maybe retouch it? Well surely not. I am not sure. Perhaps somebody has an opinion about.

i dont wanna spam, but you asked if somebody has an optinion and i have one concerning this: i really wouldn’t retouch it, because she doesn’t cover her arms with a long shirt or something, she shows it more or less, so i think it seems to be not that big problem for her. and on the other picture she is smiling. and i think… you shouldn’t always show just pictures of jubilant party people who seem to have no problems in their life. i think such a photo has a right to exist, too. it’s realistic.

the party and the post were called Nightmare on Friedrichstrasse, and that was the picture that made the most sense as an opener. although I honestly didn’t see the scars until it was pointed out to me.

the first photo is indeed brilliant as it shows much more than just a normal sloppy party girl. it would have a much better effect if it stood alone.

The party, as well as the pictures made me wonder just one thing; exactly where does one find any sort of resemblance to a nightmare, or in fact anything that makes you want to slow down your scrolling in the faces of these kids?

hm, I didn’t get the name Nightmare as well. Maybe it’s because they played all sorts of music including indie and alternative stuff which is a nightmare to the usual electro club kids? But I think it just is a fun play on words and therefore a catchy title.
But if you disliked the party so much, Joel, then I guess the title is very suitable after all, right?
Regardless of the music they play I have always appriciated Scala as it brings together a mix of people including young and old (see background of 2nd picture!), club kids and indie folk, hipsters and “normal” people. They don’t have an arrogant door policy like other “hip” places, everyone can come here and have a good time without feeling out of place.

it was my first time @ scala, liked it very much! The best was the AC Slater… good fun and good dancing!
