Unglaublichweise soll ja am Wochenende der Sommer endlich aus den Pötten kommen. Ich glaub’s wenn ich es sehe. Solange müssen wir uns das kalte Wetter mit ein paar flockigen Events verschönern. Zum Beispiel einem Festival über unsere Zukunft, einer 90er Jahre Party, einer Ausstellung der Angestellten des Berghains, oder auch einer Weekday Shoperöffnung. Dies und vieles mehr nach dem Klick.

Wednesday, August 17

How do we define “good living” given the global ecological crisis? This question, which is relevant for everyone no matter what social group they belong to, is the central thematic focus of ÜBER LEBENSKUNST (the art of living), an initiative project of the Federal Cultural Foundation in cooperation with the Haus der Kulturen der Welt. The festival offers a wide program including, workshops, panel talks, exhibitions, parties and much more. For the full details visit their website. Thursday, August 18

Neon is the theme for the second sewing party at Stoffy Meyer with Etsy. Drinks, music, sewing, fun! Brunnenstr. 165, 19-22h.

The Gestalten Space is opening the solo exhibition Good Weather by Sarah Illenberger who presents her three-dimensional illustrations and her first monograph. Sophie-Gips-Höfe, Sophienstraße 21, 18-22h.

The Berghain is presenting the group exhibition ALLE -Worker’s Pearls with the art of their staff members. It’s going to take place at KUBUS a new space in the building (exciting!). The vernissage is at 19h (invite only), after party with free entrance from 22-24h at Berghain and 5 EUR after midnight. The exhibition is open to the public from August 19 – 26, daily between 16-22h.

Über Lebenskunst presents Mocky’s Post-Alles Stage which is about a possible future for music festivals becoming sustainable. With live performance by Bonaparte and futuristic DJ set by Peaches. At the HKW, John-Foster-Dulles-Allee 10, 21h.

Swedish cult label Weekday is opening another store at Neue Schönhauser Strasse 17/18 on Friday at 12h. There is going to be an opening party at KTV, Chausseestr. 36, 23h for that on Thursday. RSVP here.

Intro presents Introducing with Royal Bangs, Wolf People and Freedom or Death live at Magnet Club, Falckensteinstr. 48, 22h.

Indie-hipster-homo party Homopatik takes place at ://about blank, Markgrafendamm 24c, 23:30h.

Saturday, August 20

Straßenfest at Gormannstrasse in Mitte starting at 16h.

WMF, Mit Vergnügen and Morgenwelt present the Fahrrad Disko on the rooftop of the HKW, John-Foster-Dulls-Allee 10 as part of the Über Lebenskunst Festival. The party will be supplied with energy by a set of generator bikes that you will have to use to keep the party going. Music by Pilocka Krach (bar 25), Gebrüder Teichmann (WMF), Sven Dohse and more. Fun idea to integrate the concept of sustainability into a party. At 22h you can bike over to Kater Holzig and Ritter Butzke or use the solar energy boat on the spree at 23h.

BLN.FM presents Hier:hören a night of audio films and readings at UFA Fabrik, Viktoria Str. 10-18, 18h. Not that this only makes sense to you when you understand German.

Sunday, August 21

Premiere of the movie Die Bilder Verschwimmen Automatisch at Kino Moviemento, Kottbusser Damm 22, 19h. (German, also) It’s a documentary about controversial director, artist and TV host Christoph Schlingensief who sadly passed away a year ago.
