Berlin Festival 2011

Bag Raiders

There are three main reasons why the Berlin Festival for me is like the best festival that I know of. One: It’s in Berlin, which means I don’t have to sleep in a tent. Two: Even though it’s partly outdoors all areas still have a roof, so no fear of heavy rain. Three: The line-up is the most amazing I have seen in… forever! Just by briefly flicking through the overview of all the acts I count at least 10 that I definately want to see on September 9 and 10, 2011 at Tempelhof Airport. And I haven’t even taken a closer look at some of the bands that I don’t know yet but that might be equally cool. After the jump you’ll see a few of my highlights of the festival and the related music videos. Suz and Claudio will write about their hightlights in the following weeks and stay tuned to our Facebook page for updates in the line-up.

A-Trak

World DJ Champion with only 15 years A-Trak is one half of Duck Sauce who brought us the amazing Barbra Streisand track.

Hercules & Love Affair

We have all written so much about them here on the blog, so we don’t have to say again, how much we love the gay pop-eye (Andy Buttler) and his crazy band including the awesome Aerea Negrot. Here is there new video to my favorite new song of their latest record: Painted Eyes.

Yelle

Chanteuse Francaise, probably the most famous one of her kind, who brought us the cheeky song Je Veux Te Voir Dans Un Film Pornographique…

***

The Naked And Famous

I don’t know much about this band other that they are from Auckland, New Zealand and that their song Young Blood is one of the most beautiful songs for the summer that I know of. I get goosebumps everytime I hear it!

***

Bag Raiders

They gave me a soundtrack for my last Barcelona trip and now these Aussie boys are giving me some Sunlight for the rainy summer in Berlin.

Oh Land

One of the new fabulous ladies of pop. Check out her song Son of a gun:
