What awaits you, my dear readers, in this lovely pre-Christmas week? We have, most importantly, our own Christmas event coming up this Wednesday. And after that we have quite the nice selection of gallery openings, shop anniversary parties and christmas sales! What a jolly good time we all will have. Pick your events after the jump.

Wednesday, Dec. 14

I hope you all are prepared for the big GIF show on Wednesday! The GIFs have been created, the music has been selected, the Christmas tree is chopped and the cupcake decoration is being made as we speak! Prepare for our Christmas event of the season: GIF. ME. BERLIN. – a photographic exhibition of animated GIFs. Twelve Berlin-based photographers and artists are presenting their vision of the future. Read more about here and get a preview. And you are all invited to the vernissage and after party at the HBC Kino, Karl-Liebknecht-Str. 9, starting at 19h. There will be a GIF Photo Booth by Loopcam and lots of other fun things to do! If you tragically can’t make it, make sure to check out the online exhibition here on the blog (starts on Dec. 15th) or on the website of our media partner smart-urban-stage.com.

Carsten Joost and Almost Straight are DJing at Shade / Flamingo, Kleine Präsidentenstr. at Monbinjoupark. Starts 23:30h.

Thursday, Dec. 15

Direktorenhaus is celebrating the opening of their winter exhibtion Alpenglow with illustrator Erik Mark Sandberg. Am Krögel 2, starts 18h.

Our friend Eva is launching her wonderful new website ArtBerlin.de by hosting a guided tour through the current photography exhibition at Galerie Wentrup at Tempelhofer Ufer 22 with art experts Silke Hohmann (Monopol), Nico Anklam (Deutsche Guggenheim), Nadine Barth (barthouse) and Tina Wentrup (Wentrup Gallery) who will give their personal insights about the exhibited work of such photographers as Zanele Muholi, Ryan McGinley und Anna Gaskell. Starts at 19:30h.

Broken Hearts Club Xmas Special at Ballhaus Chausseestr. 102 starting at 22h.

Friday, Dec. 16

Berlinpieces is hosting a designer Christmas sale at Waldemarstr. 33a (3. backyard, entrance D, 4th floor) with designers such as A.D.Deertz, Franzius, Gretchen, Mikenke & JULIANANDBEN. From 14-23h.

Berlin-based label DSTM – Dont Shoot The Messengers is celebrating the first anniversary of their boutique at Rückerstr. 10 starting at 18h with an after party at Flamingo, Kleine Präsidentenstr. at Monbijoupark.

My favorite Rangleklods is playing live again at Chez Jackie, An der Schillingbrücke, presented by La Jeunesse Doree. Also playing live that night is Justus Köhnke. Starts around 23h.

Saturday, Dec. 17

Stattbad Wedding at Gerichtstr. 65 is hosting the Stattmarkt, an urban art market in the pool. The market is going to be open on Saturday and Sunday from 14-22h. On Sunday there is gonna be a Charity After Party!

Sunday, Dec. 18

The Nowkoelln Flowmarkt people are having Christmas fleamarket at Umspannwerk, Ohlauerstr. 43, 11-19h. Good opportunity for gifts!
