What’s up in Berlin this week? The DMY, that’s what’s up! And along with the big design festival at Tempelhof Airport come a truckload of satellite events all over the city. We also have some nice exhibition openings this week as well as a very awesome Berghain party with the hottest acts in town. These and more events after the jump.

Tuesday, Jun 5

TMI is a series of queer videos and films curated by Todd Sekuler and Aykan Safoglu that will be shown every Tuesday for the next 7 weeks at C|O Berlin. The screenings will include the work of noted directors such as Gus Van Sant, Gregg Bordowitz, Larry Clark and Francois Ozon, as well as video work by artists including Sharon Hayes, William E. Jones, Richard Fung, Liz Rosenfeld and Wayne Yung. Tonight it starts with the premiere of the film It Did Happen Soon by Annika Eriksson. Oranienburger Straße 35/36, 20h.

Enjoy a free basic menu by Matz & Moritz during another edition of Family Times at Merkezi, Adalbertstr. 5/6, 20h.

Wednesday, Jun 6

The design festival DMY is opening today at 20h at Tempelhof Airport, Columbiadamm 10 (Hangar 2). The exhibtion will be open until Sunday. Watch out for all the satellite events around town and of course also for the DMY Klublabor – the night program of the DMY. More infos on the DMY here.

Thursday, Jun 7

As part of the DMY the product design label Supergau is opening their first pop-up store presenting their new collection at Gartenstr. 6 in Mitte. For the opening party they have invited the band Mighty Oaks to play live. Starts at 19h.

The Gestalten Space at Sophie-Gips-Höfe is opening the exhibition Easy As Pie by artist collective Klub7 starting at 19h. The exhibition will run until July 1, 2012.

Voo is hosting a special exhibition for the DMY at their store and celebrate the opening of it today at 19h. You will see the work of Marc Braun, Neulant van Exel, Hanemaai, Playtype, Son of Nils, Sigurd Larsen and many more. Voo is also having a pop-up shop at the DMY at Tempelhoft open from Wednesday till Sunday.

Certain People at Berghain, Am Wriezener Bahnhof, starting at 22h with DJ sets by Peaches and Planningtorock and a live concert by the amazinh Light Asylum.

Friday, Jun 8

Artstars* presents the new exhibition The New Berlin Painters with the work of artists Paul Vogeler and Moritz Hoffmann at Statt Berlin, Lottumstr. 1 in Mitte. The vernissages starts at 19h.

Strychnin Gallery is opening their circus-themed group show The Emporium with sculptures by Seymour, Doktor A and Skeleton Heart. Starts at 19h, Boxhagener Str. 36. Runs until Juli 8th.

The Contributed Studio at Straußberger Platz 16 is opening the exhibition Stuff We Love by BL33N a.k.a. Donovan and Matthias Vriens-McGrath. Don’t ask me what BL33N is, because I don’t understand it myself (is it T-shirts?) but it’s damn sexy for sure. Opening at 19h.

Saalfest with Kool Thing and Godmother live at Festsaal Kreuzberg, Skalitzerstr. 130, 22h.

There is not much we can say about this must-do on the Berlin nightlife schedule: Blitz takes place for the 14th time now, again at Horst Kreuzberg, Tempelhofer Ufer 1, 23h.

Saturday, Jun 9

Sing Blackbird is hosting a week long Vintage Menswear Pop-Up Shop in collaboration with gaffe. Until June 16th the boys will find exquisite vintage pieces inspired by classic Italian and British dressing styles. Sanderstr. 11.

Mayflower Vintage is having another open house at Warschauer Str. 64 from 16h til late.

Skateistan is releasing their first book titled Skateistan – The Tale of Skateboarding in Afghanistan. The are celebrating the release at DAZ, Köpenicker Straße 48/49, starting at 18. There will also be a small exhibition to the release that is also open on Sunday from 14-19h.

The DMY is celebrating its DMY Closing Party at Picknick, Dorotheenstr. 90, with the Sick Girls and many more, 23h.
