The Light

This week brings us of course many new exciting football games, but also some great concerts from Berlin-based bands, a graduates fashion show, some burlesque action, a Berlin-centric illustration exhibition and much more. These and more events after the jump.

Monday, Jun 11

Our Berlin-Blog colleagues from Finding Berlin and iGnant are hosting an evening at the football living room Studio B where they will be showing their own football related photo series. Starts at 17h, Spandauer Str. 2.

Tuesday, Jun 12

The HBC is hosting a concert night with live performances by Julie Bonnie from France and Berlin-based bands Hands Up Excitement, Half-Girl, Me To My Wall and Maiden Monsters. Starts at 21h in the HBC Kino, Karl-Liebknecht-Str. 9.

Graduates Fashion Show of the Lette Verein design school taking place at Kesselhaus, Kulturbrauerei, Schönhauser Allee 36 at 21h (doors open at 20h). Tickets available for 10 EUR. Afterparty at Maschinenhaus with special guest Nod Ones Head.

Wednesday, Jun 13

How about a little Burlesque action on Wednesdays? Pinky’s Peepshow is taking place again at Bassy, Schönhauser Allee 176 a, starting at 21h with many live acts and performances.

Thursday, Jun 14

The Galerie für Moderne Fotografie at Schröderstraße 13 in Mitte is celebrating the opening of their new exhibition Die Sybille Jahre by Roger Melis with fashion photography from 1967-87. Starts at 19h. The exhibition runs until August 25, 2012.

Do you remember the iconic illustration of the downfall of the Media Spree with the Berghain as the only remaining building in the landscape around the river? The artist behind it, Chrisse Kunst, also responsible for the recent architectual illustration of the insides of the Berghain is opening his solo show Berlin, Berlin! at UpperOrange, Torstr. 109 at 18h.

The Lomography Gallery Store at Friedrichstr. 133 is revealing a new secret  product of analogue photography with a release party at their store. Starts at 19h.

Friday, Jun 15

Direktorenhaus is opening the exhibition Helsinki Fresh with work from the fields of fashion, illustration and photography, all by artists from Finland. The exhibition is open from June 15 until July 8, Tue-Sun 11-19h, free entrance. Am Krögel 2.

Live concerts by Berlin-based acts The Light and Zoe.Leela at HBC, Karl-Liebknecht-Str. 9, 21h in the Kino.

Saturday, Jun 16

Sing Blackbird is hosting another Blackbird Fleamarket at Sanderstr. 11 from 13-19h.

Berlin-based T-Shirt label Violent Elegance is having a release party for their new line of T-Shirts at Made My Day Gallery at Torstr. 66 starting at 17h.
