With the Berlin Music Week going on this week the schedule is brimming with amazing events and concerts. Of course the Berlin Festival is one of the highlights of the week-end and we are looking forward to it because we are involved in it this year. It’s still a surprise but we will reveal it in a couple of days. Exciting!!! Find out what else is going on this week in our weekly event guide after the jump.

Monday, September 3

The Literaturwerkstatt Berlin at Knaackstr. 97 is opening their season with a group reading by poets and authors from Berlin and Sao Paulo including Volker Braun, Sabine Scho and Ricardo Domeneck. Starts at 20h with readings, projects, performances, music and a glass of wine.

Tuesday, September 4

Max Richter is playing Yellow Lounge at Berghain, Am Wriezener Bahnhof at 21h.

If you’re into synth, electro glam and new wave you will enjoy the DJ set by excentric Casio & Anto at CCCP bar, Rosenthalerstr. 71, starting at 22h.

Wednesday, September 5

EXIT Berlin presents Howard Carter 2012 – the fashion presentation of the new collection of Juan Chamié with a choreography by Mad Kate (Bonaparte) and music by TideofSound. Starts at 18h at Wienerstr. 32.

Electronic Beats presents the live stream of the concert by Pet Shop Boys as well as the after show party at Horst Kreuzberg, Tempelhofer Ufer 1, starting at 20h with the screening. Justus Köncke, ND_Baumecker and the Pet Shop Bears (the makers of the famous gay bear party of the same name) will be DJing.

Thursday, September 6

Vintage wonderland XVII Dix Sept presents their new fall/winter selection with drinks and food at Steinstr. 17, 17h.

“Ich Möchte Teil einer Jugendgefährung sein (Teil 3)” is a really weird name for a party. But young Berlin-talent Thomas Azier, who has just been on tour with Woodkid, is playing live. Starts at 19h at Magnet, Falckensteinstr. 48.

Gestalten Space is presenting the illustration book Deutschland Verstehen (Understanding Germany) with cutting-edge infographics that provides a deeper understanding of Germany. Sophie-Gips-Höfe, Sophienstr. 21, 19h.

Excentric performers, DJs and party hosts WET NAILS are celebrating their 1st anniversary at Flamingo, Kleine Präsidentenstr. 4a, starting at 23h. WET NAILS are Jackee Word, Julius Petit and Hllywd.

Friday, September 7

The BERLIN FESTIVAL is taking over the Tempelhofer Freiheit and former Airport. The concerts start at 14h with Brand Brauer Frick and then go on with Friends, Tocotronic, Little Dragon, Kate Nash, Miike Snow, Sigur Ros, Nicolas Jaar, Grimes, Major Lasor, The Killers and many more. Running Order Friday.

Kunsthalle m3 is opening the double exhibition Familie with paintings by Armic Ceric and objects by Wolfgang Friz. Opens at 19h, exhibition runs until September 16th 2012. Mengerzeile 1-3.

Box 32 at Boxhagener Str. 32 opens the group exhibition Discovering Realities with digital photo works by Kasia Swiezak, Igor Morski, Frederik Schulz and William Perls. Opens at 19h, runs until September 27th 2012.

I HEART BERLIN presents: Berlin Film Society is hosting a very special screening Federico Fellini’s cult classic La Dolce Vita with a special fashion performance by Moga E Mago in the old Zwingli Church at Rudolfstr. 14 in Friedrichshain starting at 19h with the performance and 21h with the film screening. More info on this event in the following days on the blog.

LEAP at Karl-Liebknecht-Str. 13 presents PIVOT, an installation and performance by Jacob Kirkegaard created from video and sound recordings from one of Berlin’s most important landmarks: the tv tower (Fernsehturm) at Alexanderplatz. Starts at 20h. Exhibition runs until September 28th 2012, open Tue-Sat 18-22h.

Saturday, September 8

The BERLIN FESTIVAL continues at the Tempelhofer Freiheit and former Airport. On Saturday with concerts by Kimbra, Whomadewho, Bonaparte, iamamiwhoami, Friendly Fires, Sizzar, Franz Ferdinand, Paul Kalkbrenner and many more. Running Order Saturday.

Mayflower Vintage is having another Open House at Warschauer Str. 64 from 13-21h.

Cat Sounds at Madame Claude with live music and DJs starting at 21h at Lübbener Str. 19.

Monster Ronson’s is hosting the third (The real) Tranny Olympics with games such as high heel sprint, lipsynch for your life, eating contest, wet t-shirt competition and much more fun starting at 22h at Warschauer Str. 34.
