The Weekly Event & Party Guide

If you look at the title of this post a little closer you will notice a small change. I’ve inserted “party” to our weekly event guide, as the party guide that normally comes out on Thursday is on hiatus. As companesation I will add a few more parties for the weekend into this guide and also add them during the week when more pops up on my horizon. So enjoy the new extended event and party guide after the jump.

Tuesday, October 9

Neukölln-based vintage shop and cafe Rag And Bone Man are hosting a Book Swap event this evening. Bring a book, get a new one, simply as that. Briesestr. 9, 17h.

The Merkezi is serving another free basic menu at their Family Times event at Adalbertstr. 5/6. The theme is Creta this week. Starts at 19h.

The 032c Workshop is opening the exhibition Scrapbooks 1969-1985 by Walter Pfeiffer with their Sociètè de 032c bar night, Brunnenstr. 11, 20h.

Mobile Kino is screening Todd Solondz’ controversial cult classic Happiness at Naherholung Sternchen, Berolinastr. 7, starting at 20:30h.

Wednesday, October 10

Mindpirates present the Experimental Animation Night, a screening of selected animated films. Starts at 20h, Schlesische Str. 38.

JD Samson from Le Tigre and MEN is DJing along with Joey Hansom at a special night at Flamingo, Kleine Präsidentenstr. 4a at Monbijoupark, starting at 22h.

Thursday, October 11

Seven Star gallery is opening the new solo exhibition Love Me – I’m trying with photographs by Maxime Ballesteros. The young photographer based in Berlin has made quite the name for himself with his portraits, event and fashion photos that he publishes in magazines such as Sleek, Purple, Interview and Zeit Magazin. Opens at 19h at Gormanstr. 7. The exhibition runs until November 17th 2012.

Vladimir Karaleev presents a part of his new summer collection at Marsano, Charlottenstr. 75 in Mitte. Starts at 19h.

VAGE opens the new urban art group show Graffito / The Voice of the Common Man at The WYE, Skalitzer Str. 86, starting at 19h.

The Berlin Film Society is hosting The Smalls, a British short film festival premiering in Berlin at The WYE, Skalitzerstr. 86, starting at 19h (films at 21h). rsvp@berlinfilmsociety.com

Friday, October 12

Mindpirates are opening the group exhibition Arcane of Patterns, a collaboration with Neukölln gallery S&yM. Starts at 18h, Schlesische Str. 38. After party at 21h.

The theatre piece Exposure Berlin is having its premiere at the former silent cinema Delphi at Gustav-Adolf-Str. 2. It combines live theatre, orchestra music and video art and brings you back into the Golden Twenties. Starts at 19h. More shows on October 13, 14, 19, 20, 21, 2012 at 19h.

Artconnect Berlin presents an Artist Talk with Troika Ranch – pioneers of interactive performances. They will talk about their upcoming performance loopdiver (next week at Uferhallen) that combines recorded dance movements with a looping tool. Starts at 20h at Boddinstr. 62.

The VooStore opens the exhibition The 2nd Life of Kaluk: Hypothesis with the amazing work of artists Ben&Julia (not to be mistaken with JULIAANDBEN…). Starts at 20h, Oranienstr. 24.

Another Blitz party is happening at Horst Kreuzberg, Tempelhofer Ufer 1, starting at 23h. Glam up! It’s Blitz!

Saturday, October 13

Mayflower Vintage is having another open house at Warschauer Str. 64 from 14-21h.

The ESMOD is presenting the first graduate works of their new program Sustainability in Fashion in an exhibition at Platoon Kunsthalle open this Saturday from 12-18 and on Sunday from 12-16h.

COOP presents the Kunstnacht 2012 at Berlinische Galerie, Alte Jakob Str. 124 with PLANNINGTOROCK and Noca Heart live! Kate Boss and Marius Funk (Shade Inc.) are going to DJ. Starts at 20h.

DorkyPark’s dance theatre play Open for Everything is playing for the last time this year this weekend on Saturday and Sunday at Schaubühne am Lehniner Platz, Kurfürstendamm 153 at 20h.

Creamcake presents Trust and Dan Bodan live at Kantine am Berghain, Am Wriezener Bahnhof, starting at 21h.

Our buddies Matze & Pierre from Mit Vergnügen are inviting to a very special big fat party with 100 of the most beautiful DJs of the city at Festsaal Kreuzberg.
