Leandro Cano Fashion Show

photos: Ricarda Schernus

The most outstanding fashion show I have seen during my very own Berlin Fashion Week tour was definitely Leandro Cano‘s runway show. The young talented Spanish designer, winner of the Designers For Tomorrow Award by Peek & Cloppenburg, presented  his very first collection Ànima – something I would call “pure perfection” between avant-garde and Baroque, with a delicate Spanish touch. His extravagant creations combined a variety of textures, including leather, wool, fur and plastic which perfectly matched the design of every single piece. What I found inventive and impressive were not only the porcelain applications on some shift dresses and catsuits but also the creativity of the designer in terms of cut and forms. The proportions were interestingly unconventional, often combined with cut-outs and transparent elements which enhanced the feminine silhouette of the models, without ever distorting it to the very extreme. Finally the colors completed  the beauty of the creations, with a dominant light cream, joined by an intense bordeaux and elaborated floral patterns, in shades of green and orange. That said, I really believe Leandro Cano to be one of the most promising young designer of today’s fashion, and I am really looking forward to his next show. Meanwhile, let’s enjoy once again his splendid creations thanks to Ricarda Schernus‘ photos, after the jump…
