A Guide to Yoga & Mindfulness in Berlin Curated by Trusted Yoga Experts

I am more than happy to notice our society’s new obsession with self-development, mindfulness and general mental hygiene. “Self Care” is not a niche anymore, it has become more of a common need. Even in Berlin, where our generation rather used to give in to pleasure and partying than nurturing thoughts on self-reflection. Now, practicing morning meditation daily with the Headspace App or going for a healthy breakfast has become a trusted routine for many.

Yoga – the mother of physical and mental self-care – is now more in demand than ever. So we thought we’d encourage you to take care of your wellbeing and bring you closer to some of Berlins most amazing Yogis. Their expertise about the yoga scene will give you an insight of which yoga studio to visit and who to follow online for more information on meditation practice and the mindset that comes with it.

Berlin is Dreamland in the new Pet Shop Boys and Years & Years Video

Berlin is Dreamland in the new Pet Shop Boys and Years & Years Video

The Pet Shop Boys joined forces with Years & Years and released a new catchy song, that sounds vintage, familiar and thus nostalgic at the same time. It’s called “Dreamland” and happens to be a duet between Neil Tenant and Olly Alexander.

The star of the lyric video to the song? Berlin! The video guides you through an underground station with turquoise tiles on the wall that clearly remind you of Alexanderplatz. Instead of any signs and directions, you would usually find down there to guide you out or to the next train, it is the lyrics that are cleverly gracing the subway walls. It almost seems like a nightly lonesome stroll in the depth of the empty subway stations – just like we all know it very well, returning home from a long night out. Also, the lyrics seem to carry that late-night Berlin nostalgia between its lines…

This Cherry Blossom Alley Is The Most Beautiful Place In Berlin Right Now

This Cherry Blossom Alley Is The Most Beautiful Place In Berlin Right Now

A charming fairytale-like path, covered in pink flower petals, lined by a thousand cherry blossom trees – that’s the TV-Asahi-Kirschblüten-Allee. Grand Cherry Blossom Trees, loaded with heaps of luscious pink petals, standing tall against the deep blue sky – you can’t feel spring more intensely than here. Surprisingly, this is one of the lesser known places to enjoy when Spring finally hits Berlin city. Its beauty and charm downright overwhelmed us when we got there (and admittedly, it is not that easy to find). You can either reach this little piece of heaven by S-Bahn or car, down by the border of the city in Teltow. The easiest way is getting off at S Lichterfelde Süd, and then walking towards the pathway, which is called Mauerweg. It runs between Lichterfelder Allee and the border of Brandenburg (so it actually ends where Berlin ends too).

Many big capitols worldwide have parts of their cityscape inspired by each other. Like there is Little Italy in New York or a small China Town in London. Up until now, I thought that Berlin – in its authentic and unapologetic ways – is simply Berlin, no sugar added. But little did I know, that in the vast residential area of southeast Berlin, you can find a charming Adriatic idyll named New Venice. This peaceful and unexpectedly beautiful place has been charming visitors for almost a hundred years now. But what is it all about?
