These Awesome Berlin Restaurants Offer Home Deliveries

These Awesome Berlin Restaurants Offer Home Deliveries

photo: Cookies Show.

Normally around this time of the year, we would offer you a guide of the newest restaurants in Berlin. Well, things went a little differently this year and now we found ourselves scouting through various websites, Instagram accounts and Facebook pages to find out which of our favorite Berlin joints is actually still open and cooking during the current lockdown and – more importantly – who is doing home deliveries so we can avoid leaving our quarantine. We put together a quite eclectic mix of different styles of restaurants from fine dining to street food, and we also tried to cover places across the city.

Keep in mind some of these restaurants are only making their first experiences with deliveries, so be patient with them. It’s a tough situation for the entire gastronomic scene. It might be worth keeping tuned to their channels for any changes in regards to times and delivery terms. We’ve linked the most helpful website or social media account of each place in the texts below. Guten Appetit!

Spooning Cookie Dough: Sweet Dreams Come True in Prenzlauer Berg

Spooning Cookie Dough: Sweet Dreams Come True in Prenzlauer Berg

Berlin is a city of vices and few of them are as innocent as sweet tooth. But the Berlinerin Diana Hildenbrand has elevated her habit of scooping on raw dough into a yummy business idea. Those of you looking for a candy haven where you definitely won’t have to add extra sugar – read on!

Her store in Prenzlauer Berg looks like it was taken out of a Wes Anderson movie – and the fairytale aesthetic is a perfect setting to experience the luscious snack. Raw cookie dough is not yet a very popular concept in Germany, but it has many followers in the US – and that’s how Diana first came across it when during her pregnancy she was googling cake dough recipes that didn’t contain eggs.

She organized a few tastings with friends and after their positive response, she quit her job and devoted herself solely to her two kids and the cookie dough business. Now, you can choose your favorite from a sweet variety of cookie dough sorts jazzed up with delicious extras like hazelnut and chocolate spread, roasted almonds, marshmallows just to mention a few, along several different toppings.

If you like your desserts extra sweet, you just have to check out this place!

Eating up the Cookies! – A Retrospective of a Party Era

Eating up the Cookies! – A Retrospective of a Party Era

I have a really distinct memory from my first night at Cookies. I was 19, fresh in Berlin and doing some crazy art projects for the gender class of my university. We were a small group of three people on the project. One of them was my best friend and the other one was my secret crush. We were working on the concept of our project until late in the night and got really drunk while doing so. It was a Tuesday night and we had nowhere to be on the next day, so we decided to go out. Venturing out for clubbing on a Tuesday night was something quite spectacular for me being a new Berlin citizen. So we went to the much talked about Cookies for the first time and I remember being really impressed by the dark chandeliers, the music, the people, the unisex toilets and everything going on in there. Unfortunately, my best friend and my crush were really drunk and out of control. At one point they even started kissing each other, which maybe is the reason why the night is still very present in my memories. Of course I was a good friend and stayed there and helped them to get into a cab (they were so drunk that they had trouble standing). Actually, I was a more sad that the night was ruined and abruptly ended by the alcohol than about the kissing itself (I really don`t know why I was so Zen that night, I was not even doing Yoga or anything).

Anyway, Cookies remained in my memories as great place to be. Now, nearly 10 years after this story, the Cookies club closes for good (while the restaurant Cookies Cream will remain open). Therefore we asked them to look into their archives to find pictures from the first parties happening there. After the jump, we would love to present to you a short retrospective from Cookies best places and nights of its 20 year old history.

Cookie’s Secret Island

Cookie’s Secret Island

Two week’s ago Cookie, owner of the famous Cookies club at Friedrichstaße, invited to a very special open air party at Rummelsburger Bucht. Calling it an island was a bit of an overstatement, as it clearly was not an island. Nevertheless we arrived there on a boat and set foot on a little oasis with ice cream, BBQ, drinks, art and music in a relaxed picknick atmosphere with young and old rejoicing on the grass and enjoying the view over at the Spreepark. Some impressions of the party after the jump.

Same same but a bit different. The Bar has all of us back again. Have a laugh when that bloke from work stumbles around without control or people kiss in the corners who really aren’t supposed to kiss. It’s afterhour. It is different though, but why? It’s bigger and nicer is it and more of the skip Saturday night – have brunch with your parents  – then pop into that afterhour – kind? Beware..! Parties as usual after the jump:
