Live Networking – LNFA #2 with JULIAANDBEN

Live Networking – LNFA #2 with JULIAANDBEN

Tomorrow the second Live Networking for Fashion & Art event will take place in Berlin at Platoon Kunsthalle presenting the designers JULIAANDBEN, Ivan Man, Twisted Talents, Dandie Zimmermanm, Isabel Stasinski, Appollo Krieg, Perlensäue and Marina Ballerina. When I researched all of these designers I was pleasantly surprised because except for the first two I didnt know any of them and almost all of them are really cool. So I’m extra excited for tomorrows shows. Apart from the shows there will also be some extra goodies, such as nail art by The Shit Shop, a photobooth by Canon, hair styling by Persona Non Grata, and art by Paul Vogeler.

To get you in the mood I want to show you the new Spring/Summer 2014 collection of one of my favorite labels from Berlin: JULIAANDBEN. This might very well be the best collection that designer Julia Heuse has ever done. She came up with some really great new pieces while still maintaining her iconic artsy and grungey style. The collection is very versatile with a good mix of very wearable and clean pieces and some outstanding eyecatchers. I love it! More of it after the jump.

Cinéma de Mode: Der Katalog

Cinéma de Mode: Der Katalog

Today’s Cinéma de Mode features the spectacular new fashion film Der Katalog by Aviv Kosloff for Berlin-based designer Julia Heuse, former female half of the label JULIAANDBEN. The film is part of the exhibition Outer Dark – Continuing after Fashion on display at the Museum of Applied Arts in Frankfurt and showcases Julia Heuse’s latest Autumn/Winter 2013/14 collection Object Trouvé. The collection draws inspiration from changing surfaces, fades and structures, resulting in a combination of dip dye techniques and abstract digital prints, which perfectly reflects the label’s conceptual and urban style. Der Katalog itself is a visual journey challenging conventionality and questioning fashion through images in motion and collage material in an “inspirational laboratory”. Enjoy the stunning film and some behind the scenes photos from the shooting after the jump.

JULIAANDBEN becomes JULIAHEUSE

JULIAANDBEN becomes JULIAHEUSE

JULIAANDBEN is one of the first labels from Berlin that we have become good friends with through the blog. It’s been bringing out avant-garde streetwear now for over 6 years and made its way into the best fashion boutiques all over the world. A while ago the designer team split up and Julia continued working without Ben. With the new Fall/Winter 2013/14 collection she has finally decided to bring the label name up to date with reality, so it is from now on called JULIAHEUSE. On Friday Julia presented the brand new collection at the Oukan store in Mitte with a fashion presentation and cocktail reception. We will cover the collection later on the blog, for now enjoy the impressions of the event after the jump.
