Moga E Mago - Designer Scouts at Achteinhalb

Moga e Mago – photo by Katja Henschtel

Wow, Fashion Week is over. It was a hell of a lot of work and stress, but it was also an amazing, exciting experience once more. On Wednesday we started right away with one of our big events with our Designer Scouts project. The Grand Opening at Achteinhalb with fashion presentations by Von Bardonitz, Moga E Mago, Umali and Twenty(2)too as well as a video installation by Franzius was a big hit. We were stunned at how many people came by during the night and we are really proud at how amazing all the collections and installations came out. Sadly, we couldn’t use our flower runway outside due to the unexpected rain that came up. But that wasn’t even so bad because inside we were treated with lovely finger food, mini flower cupcakes and the delicious Martini Royale drink. After the jump you will find some impressions of the preparations and the after party by me, and of the actual show by Katja Hentschel.

Designer Scouts Showcase at Achteinhalb

Designer Scouts Showcase

Today was the last day of the DESIGNER SCOUTS SHOWCASE at the Achteinhalb Concept Store. The grand opening on Wednesday was a great success. The designers created great looking installations in which they placed their models like moving manneqins in a decorated shop window. The wonderful Anna Wegelin presented her colorful collection “Lapka” in a playful environment with dolls wearing miniature versions of her outfits. It was absolutely fun to look at. The amazing Phoebe Heess created a completely different look with big black stripes hanging down from the ceiling mimiking details from her “Amarok” collection. All in black it was a totally stunning contrast to Anna’s color explosion.

Beyond the Valley presented themselves with a dramatic and quite elaborate fashion film about clothes taking on a life of its own, but with a very surprising ending. You can check it out online here. For my own accessorie label Carni I chose to seduce the guests with two handsome models offering delicious cupcakes in the style of my collection.

Anna, Phoebe and me also have a photo exhibition of our collections in the store that will go on until Febuary 19th. Impressions of the beginning and the end of the night, as well as the showroom photographed by me after the jump. Many beautiful photos of the main part of the evening by photographer André Wagner can be found over here.

It’s time to swap! On August 27 the SKYY SWAP MARKET is coming back to Berlin to Stadtbad Oderberger. Vintage lovers and fashion fanatics will get the chance to exchange their beloved old outfits for fabulous new ones.

Until August 27 you can bring your own outfits and vintage goods to one of the three SWAP-Spots, have them rated and receive a voucher. With this voucher you will get SWAP-Jetons at the event, with them you can pay for new outfits at the SKYY SWAP MARKET. If you don’t have any outfits to submit, you can still buy the Jetons and get something new at the market. The remaining Jetons can be exchanged for drinks at the After Party where Hadnet Tesfai & Uli Beck, Ali Schwarz and DJ Snax will be playing. All the profits of the evening will be donated to the Berliner Aidshilfe e.V. so your fashion addiction is helping a good cause!

A Review of Designer Scouts

Designer Scouts #2 Backstage small

photos by Katja Hentschel

Last Thursday we successfully had our second .HBC Couture: Designer Scouts event during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin. For some reason this time it was way more stressful and hectic for us compared to our first event in January, but still worth every minute. It was a challenge to meet the standards we set last time, but I think we managed really well and I’m proud of our team and all of the designers. The reactions of the press and bloggers are getting too many by now to fully list them here, so I’ll refer you to our clippings at this point. It’s really interesting and helpful for us to read what they liked and didn’t like.

I am still a bit in a daze about everything especially since the heat is sucking all my brain energy away from me. So I leave you with the impressions of the event made (for the most part) by Katja. There is also a video by BerlinFashion.TV with the collections of Esther Perbandt and George Bezhanishvili as well as my personal favorites of all the collections.

.HBC Couture: Designer Scouts

teaser

photo: Katja Hentschel

As some of you might know we off-of iHeartBerlin have our busy little hands in many pots. One of the by-products of this modest little blog is the .HBC Couture: Designer Scouts fashion show that takes place for the second time during Berlin Fashion Week this coming Thursday at 19h at our beloved .HBC. It has been mad for me in the last couple of weeks putting everything together so CR and Suz will be more active on the blog while I will be running aroung hysterically screaming “Lights, models, guestlist… just do you best, darling!”

To be honest, I’m super excited about the new show. Not only have we renowned Berlin-based designers adddress and Esther Perbandt in our program, we also have a fantastic line-up of 7 young designers and start-up labels, that are showing their runway debuts and new collections. The fashion show itself is a closed event for press and fashion professionals, but we have 2×2 tickets to win for our readers after the jump. Also we are inviting everyone to the official public After Show Party that will start right after the show at 22:30h at .HBC.

After the jump you will see the teaser trailer to the event (made by no other than Katja off-of Glamcanyon-fame), a preview of all our designers and what else they are up to during Fashion Week, and you’ll get all the details for the raffle and party.

Nine Berlin-based avantgarde designers will present their new collections on the brand new runway including Starstyling, JuliaandBen, Von Bardonitz, A.D.Deertz and more. The fashion shows will be followed by a big after show party with Sascha Funke and Carsten Klemann that you are all invited to. More about the event after the jump.
