Rangleklods by Jeppe Svendsen
This week is the week of the returns. On Wednesday the Blind Date Swingers Club Mix CD Exchange Party is coming back with new rules and new venue after a longer break, also the Travelettes Christmas Market is back with a big charity tomobola, and finally Rangleklods who is one of my favorite upcoming electronic music acts has returned to Berlin for two live gigs this weekend. The Prinzessinengärten at Berlin Moritzplatz are an amazing place with a genious and innovative idea behind it. Using mobile vegetable patches, they transformed a 6,000 m² wasteland in the centre of Berlin into an organic urban farm. They also has several beehives and a cafe serving food made from the produce grown in the garden. Alongside its ecological aims, the project intends to offer local residents a new kind of urban space, where they can meet, work and relax together having several events there like concerts, dinners or even a fleamarket. We always liked the project and are now happy to support it. They already won the smart future mind award last year here in Berlin and are now in the run for the smart future minds community award which will support the project in the next year. This week is one of those versatile affairs again. We have two very interesting photography exhibitions opening by Berlin-based talents Sascha Weidner and Maxime Ballesteros, and the rest of the week is dominated by very participative events: Sew a dress at a DIY party, climb into an interactive installation at an indie-game party, prepare an amazing dish at a cooking party, and make your own costume for a masked ball. We Have Band
What a lovely way to start the week with the day of love: Valentine’s Day and a very special party for that occasion. Of course the city is being dominated with all the events of Berlinale. But honestly, I couldn’t be arsed going any deeper into this. Just like Fashion Week it is just too much and for some reason I prefer to let this mega event pass me by. For all the other sweet little events look after the jump!
My dear friend Katja is organizing her second fleamarket with her Travelettes girls at Dr. Pong on the 19th of December. Due to the season it’s going to be a Christmas market and in addition to their vintage treasures and fleamarket goods every seller has to bake a traditional Christmas treat from a country of their choice. The proceeds of these baked goods will then be donated to a charity that gives presents to children who wouldn’t get any otherwise. Now that’s what I call Christmas spirit! If you would also like to sell your clothes and goods on the market there are still spots available. Details after the jump.

My good friend and talented photographer Katja Hentschel is organizing a very special fleamarket for women who are trying to generate some cash for their next vacation. The Travelettes Fleamarket is going to take place at Dr. Pong on July 4 close to Mauerpark. So far some really interesting women have booked a booth (it’s free!) but there are still some open spots for those who want to sell their vintage goods.
