Berlin Berlin Berlin Berlin Berlin Berlin Berlin

Berlin Berlin Berlin Berlin Berlin Berlin Berlin

While the new Berlin-themed song and music video by David Bowie caused more mixed emotions rather than excitement, this new Youtube clip by visual artist Diego Agullo and WayToRussia founder Dmitry Paranyushkin perfectly captures the spirit of Berlin in a variety of aspects. To our personal amusement the video does take a long detour into Berlin’s cutlural nightlife and party scene, which of course is only one of Berlin’s many attractions. It’s funny how the repetative “Berlin” in the video at some point starts to sound like a frog, haha… Enjoy an ode to Berlin after the jump.

New Video: Lana Del Rey – Bel Air

New Video: Lana Del Rey – Bel Air

Miss Lana Del Rey has a new video, a very simple one though. What is the spell behind Lana? She is so hated and yet so wanted. She seems more vulnerable, now as her lips are less voluminous. Like a sad mare in the fog she appears in her new video which you can see after the jump: Read on…

Repainting Mitte

Repainting Mitte

In their latest episode of the web-tv show Recreate Berlin the guys from Vice have finally arrived in my favorite dictrict of Berlin: Mitte. This time the task of the Galaxy Note Lab was to repaint Mitte. I really enjoyed how workshop leader Clé gives some insights about the development of district that are beyond the typical touristic and commercial hotspots while the participants get creative with the photos they have captured at places such as the Circle Culture Gallery at Gipsstraße. Have a look at the video after the jump.

Cinéma de Mode: Spot the Difference

Cinéma de Mode: Spot the Difference

In anticipation of my trip to Paris and Asnières to the historical studio and home of Louis Vuitton I would like to post the latest fashion film of the traditional brand. For their new design collaboration with Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama they shot a pair of 1-minute fashion films that are almost exactly the same, except for 5 differences. Can you spot the difference? Play the game, after the jump.

Cinéma de Mode: Lost Bay

Cinéma de Mode: Lost Bay

The fashion film Lost Bay by label Ashirov Martic shot by Esteban Studio perfectly fits the relaxed and summery mood of the past days. When you look at the models, the clothes and the general style of the video you would probably associate this label with cities like New York, but actually they are from Düsseldorf, Germany. Enjoy the fun video after the jump.

Bloc Party – Octopus

Bloc Party – Octopus

After Kele’s little excursion into the land of solo artists he now got back together with his band Bloc Party to make another album. The new single Octopus just came out and it sounds just like the old Bloc Party. I personally preferred Kele’s more electro-driven solo songs, that’s why I really like the RAC Remix more then the normal video version. You can download the Octopus RAC Remix over at Melt! legally and for free for a limited time. And for the video just head over the jump.

Social Seating on your next Flight?

Social Seating on your next Flight?

When I walk into an airplane I always dread the moment when I come closer to my row. Will I sit next to the mom with the screaming baby, or will it be the overweight old guy who is taking up more space then his seat offers him, or is it going to be the big group of Italian tourists who are already chatting away enthusiastically. No matter what it will always feel unfair that you have no say in with whom you will spend the next hours on your side.

Quite the good idea from Dutch airline KLM then to offer  a special service to avoid any surprised with your seat neighbors. With Meet&Seat you get the chance to connect your flight with facebook and see who else is on the same plane. This way you can choose to sit next to someone who you might have some common interests with. Great! To promote this new service KLM has launched the Be My Guest campaign featuring super model Yfke Sturm and some other popular Dutch personalities that gives you the chance to win a trip to New York. Have a look at the video after the jump.

Short Sunday: Jericho

This could have easily been a feature for the Pictoplasma Character Walkt here in Berlin. The charming short film Jericho by Liam Gavin tells the heart-warming but sad story of a mourning man and his two imaginary friends who help him get through life. If you feel a bit lonely sometime in this big city then this film will surely make you smile. Enjoy after the jump.

Colors for Summer

Colors for Summer

Yes, yes… it got cold again. But at least it’s sunny! And judging from the weather forecast temperatures are rising over the weekend until almost 30°C, yeay! Get your open air outfits sorted, people! After we’ve stored away our thick sweaters and black winter coats it’s time now for less fabric and more colors. This is what the new campaign video for the summer 2012 collection by New Yorker is all about: Bright splashy colors, short shorts and tight shirts. The short film by the German high street fashion brand features some of their summer 2012 looks presented on a roster of cute faces and hot bodies. Amoung them we found none other than Jakob, infamous author of Dandy Diary. Check out the video and a few photos after the jump.
