The Lights of the Revolution: Join Berlin’s Biggest Public Performance

On Sunday, the 11th of November 2018 you will have the chance to be part of a unique creative performance with TOOLS FOR ACTION. Their latest artistic project “Signals, Resonating Revolutions” is a collaboration with Kulturprojekt Berlin and the choreographers of Tänzer ohne Grenzen, and you can take part in this creative resistance to fight for unity and the good values in our society!

On the 11th of November,  Berlin celebrates the 100th anniversary of the German Revolution, namely when the first German democracy was proclaimed in Berlin and basic rights, like the right to assemble, freedom of opinion and votes for women were established.

To celebrate this important day, TOOLS FOR ACTION will be organizing an artistic performance involving hundreds of participants using a quite inspiring and unconventional tool: red inflatable light-sculptures. Inflatables do not represent only a choreographic element. Symbolically, they are tactical instruments for conveying messages and engaging people in social movements.

TOOLS FOR ACTION is a network of artists and activists who create art to make an impact for future generations. By performing in a public space with illuminated inflatables, they want to express the need to connect contemporary political issues with unconventional aesthetic boundaries.

On Saturday, the 3rd of November 2018, from  17:00 – 19:00 (Meeting point: Exit of subway Tiergarten) you will have the chance to test the new inflatable light objects yourself and become part of the big rehearsal for the final performance, which will take place on Sunday, the 11th of November 2018 from 16:00 to 19:00 h (Meeting point: Podewil, entrance via Waisenstraße 26 (courtyard), U2 Klosterstraße). Everyone is invited to join, be a spectator or simply spread the word about it!

Last week we had the chance to meet the people behind TOOLS FOR ACTION and learn more about their work. We got to see how the new objects are built, were able to try them out ourselves and could practice some simple choreographies with the lights. We guarantee that it is going to be worth it!

Let’s gather and be part of the inspiring project “Signals, Resonating Revolutions”.  Political action can definitely be entertaining, artistic and fun too.
