We hardly had time to regain our strength after the Fashion Week marathon, there we are already stuck in the middle of the Berlinale 2008. This years film festival opened with Martin Scorsese’s documentary “Shine A Light” about the Rolling Stones who actually showed up on the red carpet, followed by one of the biggest award hopes of 2008 “There Will Be Blood” starring Daniel Day-Lewis. Both films were only screened last week, so we kind of missed that. But there are a few more highlights worth checking out this week. One of them being the new Michael Gondry “Be Kind Rewind” starring Jack Black and Mod Def, a film about a crazy little video rental store that re-shoots movie classics with paper cuts and silly costumes and that with major success. Also on our list: The thriller “Transsiberian” featuring Woody Harrelson, Emily Mortimer and Ben Kingsley, the drama “Julia” featuring Tilda Swinton, “Filth&Wisdom”, the directional debut of Madonna who will also be attending at the Premier on Wednesday, and “Wine & Cupcakes”, the new short film by photographer Bruce Weber. See some trailers after the jump.
