The idea of making a horrorfilm on stage really sounds like a challange to me. Scary movies usually only work with stunning effects and authentic atmospheres which is something you cannot recreate so easily on stage. The Dog, The Night and The Knife by Marius von Maeynburgs at the Schaubuehne really managed to capture this genre quite vividly. The scenography and atmosphere of this play is absolutely remarklable. It reminded me a lot of the game play adaptation of Silent Hill. But as so many horror movies this play is far from flawless.
