A piece of art will bring people together, but it will divide their minds. It will be noticed by some while others will walk by. Some will understand and others will shake their head. It can be made by a plan or it can happen by accident. It can be created with new things or assembled of old.

When I walk through the streets of Berlin it doesn’t really matter if I’m planning to see art or not. I will end up seeing it anyway. If you turn a corner in Mitte, Kreuzberg or Friedrichshain chances are high that you will be standing in front of a new gallery you never noticed before, a giant sculpture, or a painting on the wall. Art is everywhere. And I think that’s what makes living here such a pleasure.

For me Berlin is a piece of art itself. It is made of new things and old things. Some of it was done on purpose, some just happened by accident. Some people will understand it, others won’t. Some will stand by and wonder while others will just walk by. And though it can be divided it can also unite.
