On Saturday we went to the opening of Berlin’s latest night club Badlands. Located in a sidestreet of Friedrichstraße in fancy Mitte I expected something along the lines of Picknick, and that’s pretty much what we got. Some more photos and impressions after the jump.
In a city with a vibrant night life like Berlin’s it would never occur to me to open a club as plain and characterless as Badlands. The location is just black with nothing more exciting to look at than a small neon light on the ceiling. Of course with such uninspireing surroundings you have nothing else to do than concentrate on the people.
The audience was the usual mix of young and hip Mitte folks that you would normally come across at Picknick, which of course gives you a lot of opportunities to pass the time with examining fashion, beauty and self-absorption.
