I HATE Hate Crimes

I am horrified! I just learned that Tuesday night a 23 year old gay boy was almost beaten to death by 5 men. And this did not happen in some American hinterland but in the heart of the gay Kiez in Schoeneberg here in Berlin, in the same street where I go to work to every day. The victim was standing in front of a gay bar at Kleiststrasse with a friend when they were approached by 5 Eastern European men who immediately started to attack them. The friend managed to get away to run for help, but the 23 year old had no chance and was kicked and beaten in the face allthough he was already unconsciously lying on the floor. He is still in life-threatening condition. This is a very sad event. I have never been harassed or threatened in my life and I’m really greatful for that. But this happening so close by really makes me anxious.
