Sunday Seance Summer Affair at Terrasse

Sunday afternoon is really such a perfect time for a party. And while the confetti people stood in line for hours at the Bar 25 we were having a good time around the corner at Terrasse with music by Tdaance, Hunee and more. The HBC. and Macaroni guys really found a nice spot here for their Sunday Seance Summer Affair. I hope there is going to be more of that.

Finally had the chance to chat with Marcel from Amy&Pink and Eva from Miss Creative Classy. Greetz over to you guys! More photos after the jump.

Re-inventing Work

When I sit in my office all day in front of the screen typing and working until the day passes by or when I’m stuck in a conference room at a meeting that never seems to end, I sometimes always wonder if this is really it. Is this the ideal concept of work?

The non-profit initiative Palomar5 is addressing exactly this question in their upcoming creative camp that puts together 30 creative people from all fields into a secluded invironment to explore alternatives to the standard thinking and working processes of our time. They want to find better ways to fulfill the needs and use the resources we have in our digital generation.

The workshop itself will take place from October until November here in Berlin at the Malzfabrik. You can still apply until August 15. Find our more here.

The Desired Constellation

swan

Did you ever notice that some of the freckles, marks and moles on your body resemble star constellations? Well, I for once did. This must also have been the inspiration for the Constellation Search, an art performance at White Rabbit Gallery tonight at 20h. If you go there your body will be explored for star signs and then tattoo artist Oliver of the Sky will mark them with little dotted lines. That’s so sweet! More infos and a suprise video after the jump.

Berlin Festival

deichkind

Deichkind

When I arrived at my first Berlin festival two years ago at the end of the second day I was just in time to see the last act: Peaches. I was happy that I managed to see her, but at the same time mad at myself for not having gone there earlier. It’s been two rainy days and I was sitting at home thinking about leaving the house at all. Well, I should have done, that’s for sure, cause even at the end I could feel the amazing atmosphere of this Festival. The audience, most of them being very young and dressed unbelievably colourful was dancing frenetically to the sound of Peaches. Last year I couldn’t go there because I was not in Germany, but this year I’ll go to write about my impressions, even if it rains cats and dogs, promise.

The fourth Berlin Festival takes place at the upcoming weekend on the area of Airport Tempelhof. For those who don’t know Berlin well, it is not as far as it seems. Kreuzberg 61 is nearby and you can easily reach the airport by taking the U6 from Friedrichstraße. When two years ago there were rather acts only known by people usually going to places like Rio, Picknick and Tape, this year’s line-up is a bit more commercial, nevertheless a good one. Just to name a few: Deichkind, Jarvis Cocker, These New Puritans, The Rifles, Peaches, Pete(r) Doherty und Zoot Woman. Furthermore there will be an additional Club Berlin floor inside the airport for you to party all night long. More after the jump.

Urban Affairs Closing Party at Stattbad

Urban Affairs extended Closing Party at Stattbad Wedding

So, Frank, do you actually go any place else then Stattbad Wedding these days? It starts to get boring… Well, to be honest, I do go elsewhere. But this is a really pleasant place to take pictures at. Also the Stattbad is closing down for a few weeks so this weekend was my last chance to dance between the sinks, tiles and pipes. The pretty redhead up there is Anna from Reigen, by the way. More after the jump.

Blogging spoils your spelling, doesn’t it?

pons1

Last week I found a green little book in my mailbox. It was a school book with my name on it. It countained a printed version of one of our articles with spelling and grammar remarks and a personal letter to me from a PR lady from PONS who just released their brand new online spelling service. Usually press mailings are not that creative, but this one was really cute. Well done!

Back at school I was totally anal about spelling and grammar. Usually I made no mistakes no matter how long the texts. But then came along the spelling reformation and that totally messed me up. The fact that most of the articles in this blog are pretty much written on the fly doesn’t help either. So the spelling service might actually be a good thing to keep this site clean. If you want to know what grade I got from PONS for my article check after the jump.
