I have been planning to do this for a while now but simply didn’t find the time. But finally with the help of another night shift here it is: Our new Weekly Event Guide. Of course we have noticed that our Thursday’s Party Guide has become one of the most popular posts here and many people ask us what to do in Berlin during the week. So I hope this new guide will give you inspiration on how to spend your week. This first edition is dominated by all the art events taking place this week. See for yourself after the jump.
Monday
As announced earlier we will be decorating a shop window at the Galerie Lafayette today (at Französische Straße). We’ll start around 17h and will be there until 20h. Come by and you can see the premiere of the finished result!
The C/O that will be moving out of the Postfuhramt toward the end of the year and is now looking for a new location (it looks like it’s going to be at Monbijou Park) is opening their new Vattenfall Fotopreis 2010 exhibition at 21h.
Tuesday
The Berliner Kunstsalon is the first one of the many art fairs opening this week. It’s at Alter Schlachthof in Friedrichshain starting at 17h.
Artist Neo Rauch is premiering his new limited edition book at the Taschen Store at 18h.
Electronic music radio station Sweatlodge is recording their show Happy Station live at Soju Bar starting at 22h. Come by for a drink!
Snax runs his own party Headache a Bang Bang Club with Parus live and DJs Snax and Sissi Disco.
Wednesday
Wednesday sees the opening of all the main art fairs in town. That would be Berlin Art Tower at the Kindl Brauerei in Neukölln, the Berliner Liste 2010 at Münze and the Art Forum Berlin at Messehallen 18-20. There is probably a lot more of these. Thursday
The second batch of big art fairs opens this Thursday including the abc art contemporary at Messe Berlin, the Stroke 03 Urban Art Fair at Station and the Preview at Flughafen Tempelhof. Also the Künstlerhaus Bethanien is having an open studio day starting at 19h. Note the new address at Kottbusser Str. 10.
We are especially looking forward to the Stroke 03 Urban Art Fair as Suz is contributing a photo to the exhibition “When bloggers become artists”. I’m also curious about the Stroke.Murals project where Stroke artists are creating giant murals for especially for the art fair. There is lots going on. Saturday
I’m sure you’ve all seen the big space man streetart mural near Kottbusser Tor. It’s from Portuguese artist Victor Ash who will be opening his first solo exhibition here in Berlin this Saturday at 18h at Pavilion at Gerichtstr. 23.
The Urban Art Guide and Butterfly Effect invite to the Stroke After party at Station starting at 22h.
