Moritz von Uslar is a legend for his “99 questions…” series and his book “Deutschboden”. Recently he walked by me in the ZEITmagazin corridor. This was my one chance to approach him and ask: “Sorry may I ask you 5 ½ questions?” His answers after the jump.
1. Why has nobody asked you 99 questions yet? I would immediately do so! Unfortunately I can only ask you 5 ½ question today.
I have frequently answered 99 or 100 questions. Unfortunately, so far I was bored stiff.
2. Pippa Middleton is coming over to Berlin for a date with you. What are your plans for the evening?
I’m taking her to the steak-restaurant Grill, will order a glass of hot water for her and leave her to the young and good looking men at the bar who will skillfully entertain her no doubt.
3. What is a handsome man?
A handsome man obviously has more important things to do than find himself handsome. Otherwise it would just be horrible.
4. What do you choose at IKEA? Kötbullar or Hot Dog?
That is such a brilliant question. In fact, it’s so brilliant that I’m speechless!
5. What is more important: to listen or to aks questions?
I have quite a conventional approach to conversations. My advice is to ask one question and then listen to what the other has to say. Works every time!
5.1/2 Moritz asks Christine Neder: I’m really curious: Water with or without?
I like my water with aspirin but I assume you mean with or without carbonic acid.
I love fizzy water but when I drink it, I look like I’m pregnant so I always choose still water.
