Ouf, this week is pretty full! And once again everything seems to happen in one day (Thursday). The Berlin Press Days are taking place this weeks and this is the reason for a couple of exciting fashion events. We also have some nice concerts in the beginning of the week and a couple of interesting art openings toward the end. Have a look after the jump!

Monday, Oct. 24

Holy Ghost are playing live at Museum für Kommunikation, Leipziger Str. 16, at 21h. You can’t buy tickets, but you can win some here. You can also watch the concert as a live stream here.

Wednesday, Oct. 26

Ronan & Erwan Bourellec, Nitzan Cohen, Konstantin Grcic and Sam Hecht are at the forefront of avant-garde design. Instead of focusing on their principles or philosophy of design, their group exhibition What Else Is There? at Straußberger Platz 17 looks at the influences behind the creators themselves. Supplementing their current work on view is an installation of music videos selected by the designers. The vernissage starts at 18h. The exhibtion is on view until Saturday.

Everybody know the raddest decade of all time is the 80s, so let’s sing it to the rooftops! Witness the greatest selection of 80s movies anthems gathered together in one place… with the words included as subtitles. The 80s Movie Anthem Sing-Along takes place at Mindpirates, Schlesische Str. 38, 20h.

Civil Civic and Camera are playing live at Marie Antionette, Holzmarktstr. 15-18, Bogen 47. Starts at 21h.

Thursday, Oct. 27

Oukan71 the new concept store for Japanese design and international avant-garde fashion that also includes a tea bar and a restaurant will celebrate its grand opening this Thursday with a collaborative group show of designers, musicians and artists. From 18-22h, Kronenstr. 71.

The avant-garde showroom projektGalerie, formerly located at Torstr. 96, has found a new home at Brunnenstr. 154 and is celebrating the grand re-opening this Thursday starting at 19h with a music performance by Oswald&Fessler. For the press days they also have a retrospective exhibition of famous shoe and product designer Kronier with his most amazing pieces from 1994-2011. The exhibition is open Thursday and Friday from 11-19h.

The Gestalten Space at Gipsstr. 21 presents the exhibtion and book release of My Quiet of Gold by Cooper & Gorfer, a striking photographic journey documenting the stories of love, sorrow, and betrayal from rural Kyrgyzstan. The vernissage starts at 18h. The exhibition runs until November 27, 2011.

Have you seen the 2001 queer cult classic Hedwig And The Angry Inch? If you haven’t do it! And if you have, then you will be excited to know there will be a tribute party to this amazing movie with many performances in honor of the movie by Mary Orcher, Alexander, Hedi Mohr and many more. Takes place at Monster Ronsons, Warscher Str. 34, starting at 22h.

Friday, Oct. 28

What does artistic pottery have to do with music and lyrics? The Schinkel Pavillon at Oberwallstr. 1 presents an interdisciplinary exhibition titled The Fairytale Recordings by Saadane Afif. Vernissage starts at 19h with a performance at 20h. Exhibition runs until December 11, 2011.

LEAP at Karl-Liebknecht-Str. 13 (above the Berlin Carré) is presenting TILTED FAWN – a collaboration between Melanie Lane and renowned electronic musician CLARK (Warp Records). Through a visual sound installation constructed by audio recordings, objects and choreography, the performance builds a universe that offers a dialogue between sound, space and movement. Starts at 20h.

Young art from Berlin is being presented in the big group exhibition Watchlist | 11 at the Alte Malzfabrik at Bessemer Str. 2-14. The opening reception starts at 19h. The exhibition runs until November 6th 2011.

Saturday, Oct. 29

As a special Halloween treat there will be a second edition of Mort à la Différence at Chez Jackie, An der Schilling Brücke. This time the excentric experience will include live concerts by Hanin Elias (Atari Teenage Riot), Dresser, Crazy Bitch In A Cave, as well as a wild performance of the lovely Megg Morales, who will be everything but lovely then. Starts at 22h.
