iHeartBerlin/ale Special: Berlin Film Night – Extended Encore & Party

While we are normally quite active with our own events during Berlin Fashion Week we thought it was about time we also do something during Berlinale, as films have become such a big part of this blog. And what would fit better than the Berlin Film Night, that we did together with Mobile Kino back in September. The turn-out and response was so amazing and we all loved the selection of short films from various genres. It was our plan to give an encore screening of this for those who missed it and now seems to be the right time. To also make it interesting for those who enjoyed the first screening we extended the program with about half an hour of brand new short films. We are also still open to submissions of Berlin-related films and videos.

And as an iHeartBerlin event wouldn’t be the same without a party the screening will be followed by our iHeartBerlin/ale After Film Party. Both take place at the awesome Urban Spree gallery on the upcoming Saturday, Febuary 16th 2013. Find out more after the jump.

To give you an impression of the variety of films we will show here are 3 examples:

If you want to submit your film for our screening on Saturday you can send us a link to it to kino@iheartberlin.de until Thursday, Febuary 14th 2013 at 20h. Make sure the film is Berlin-related, either visually or by its story. We are open to all genres including  fiction, fashion, art, music, documentary, horror, ect. Looking forward to your films!

The After Film Party

For the party we invited some of our favorite DJs from Berlin to celebrate our film event (and also my birthday btw.).

Oh Sophia

Sophia Hoffmann a.k.a. Oh Sophia will be a familiar face for you if you’re regular of the Last Days parties at Backyard, where she has been playing a lot in the past. But DJing is just one of her three trades. She also a journalist who writes for several print and online magazines as well as her own blog. And she is a passionate chef running her own supper club Daily Happa. For the After Film Party of our Berlin Film Night she will be cooking up one of her famous mixed-genre DJ sets that will get the party started.

Joey Hansom

Joey Hansom is yet another multi-tasker who is stirring up the city with his numerous activities. He is not only a thriving DJ, he also produces and remixes for an array of talented musicians from Berlin and he runs his own event and booking agency Expatriarch. Check out his own radio show and his mixes on Soundcloud.

Akia

Kate Boss is a Berlin-based São Paulo-born DJ who first caught our attention as one of the residents and makers of the legendary Berlin Hilton parties on Wednesdays at NBI (later renamed to Shade Inc.). He is one of the few DJs I know who delivers a smooth mix of electronic dance and contemporary pop music that will please his audience from the first to the last minute of his sets. At our party he will pay together with talented yound German DJ and producer Uli Buder a.k.a. Akia.
